I Went Back in Time to 10 Years Ago and Saved My Young Lady Childhood Friend and She Became My Fiancee ~She’s Honest and Cool and Looks at Me Like She Wants to Be Cared For~
Then the days of me and Yorumiya began
The fiancee. Yeah, fiancee.
I wondered what a “fiancee” was, so I looked it up and found out that it was “a promise made by both parents to marry their children while they are still young”. It’s not wrong. But that’s it.
The good life depends on the sense of the two parties concerned. Nothing is set in stone, so to speak.
So there was no particular change in what we were going to do.
I’m currently busy studying for my exams.
“It’s so hard …… wow ……”
Since the time leap was the Christmas before I entered high school
I’m a junior high school student now, so I have to study for the entrance exam.
I’m still in the living room working on my problem books.
Studying for exams is too difficult. Science …… Social Studies …… Math …….
“Oh! Hina-san! That’s flour! That’s not flour!”
“flour……? Isn’t it the same thing?”
“it’s totally different! I mean, why did it work last time!”
“Because they’re so similar side by side, I’m taking one of them ……”
Japanese …… English …… flour, thin flour – not that
“Um,…… both of you?”
“Yes? What’s wrong? Shuu-kun.”
“Niichan? What’s wrong?”
I look up and see Yorumiya with a little white powder on her cheeks at the back of the kitchen. She is wearing a turtleneck sweater and an apron on top. Alongside her is my sister Azusa, who also has white powder on her cheeks.
Yorumiya came over today around noon.
Since that day, Yorumiya has been coming to our house from time to time. Her requirements are nothing out of the ordinary. She wants to talk, play games, and so on.
Today, she wants to serve me freshly made sweets because I am tired from studying.
That in itself was a tremendously gratifying feeling, but knowing Yorumiya’s pastry-making skills,……, I was also a little anxious.
This anxiety was right on target.
“I think I should help out.”
“No.”
“No!”
I was so anxious that I offered to help her, but she always turned me down.
This is all due to the fact that my performance in the last mock exam was bad. It’s not so bad. But it’s not a safe area either. I don’t even remember what I studied in junior high school, so I think I did well.
“Shuu kun, please go study. Don’t worry about it.”
“Yes. Ni-chan, you study! If you can’t concentrate, you can go to your room!”
“But……”
Honestly, I can’t concentrate on studying. Or rather, I’ve been doing this for about two hours since before Yorumiya arrived, so I’ve lost concentration.
I’m more concerned about the state of the kitchen. The other day, she opened a bag of pancake mix, and before I knew it, the kitchen and Yorumiya’s face were dyed white.
Yorumiya is very motivated, but for some reason, she is very natural only when it comes to baking. Azusa helps her, but she seems to enjoy messing around with her and only gives her advice in a rather fluffy manner.
This makes for a very frustrating space.
“It will be ready in a little while.”
Yorumiya said, lifting a bag of flour.
I wondered if it was true.
But about fifteen minutes later, what looked like cookies were ready.
“Then, Shuu-kun.”
“Hmm?”
“Please [Aaahn]”
“….Ahn”
Yorumiya holds out a cookie to me. The exchange has happened a few times, but each time Yorumiya looks sad, so we end up doing it.
If I glance to the side, I see that Azusa is casually eating a cookie with her eyes closed.
“What an attentive little sister she is,…… I’d say she’s too good.
“How is it?”
“Yeah,…… yeah,…….”
She looks at me nervously as I stuff my mouth with a very delicately shaped cookie.
And she was moving her body fidgeting, as if she was somehow expecting it.
“Thank you. You’re …… growing.”
The truth is, I wonder if it’s growing ……? It tasted like it. But I didn’t want to see the disappointed look on her face, so I would say it this way.
“Shuu-kun.”
“Hmm?”
“The cookies weren’t very good, were they?”
“Eeh ……! Ummm, I can’t say that it is so ….”
For some reason, Yorumiya seems happy and asks questions that are difficult to answer. Is it okay?
“But… thank you. I’m happy to hear you say that. I can still grow.”
Yorumiya smiles with a slight blush on her cheeks.
I wonder if Yorumiya, who was a perfect person, enjoys making mistakes like this. I wonder.
To tell the truth, I don’t really know Yorumiya that well.
We are childhood friends, and we are fiancee, but we haven’t spent much time together to understand each other.
But I would like to understand. I know it will be difficult.
You can never fully understand another person, no matter how much you say.
But it would be nice if we could understand each other, even if only a little.
“……I’d like to help you make sweets after I finish the exams.”
“Together?”
“Yeah, I don’t know much about it, but I wanted to try it too…”
Yorumiya’s eyes widened lightly, then the corners of her mouth relaxed.
“I’m glad.”
It makes me happy to see you smile.
I was spending my time in a daze like that.
“…… Mouu, even if you are not fiancees, you looked like it anyway.”
Azusa was muttering something like that, but I pretended I didn’t hear her well.
◇
January after the winter break.
Naturally, there were still classes in junior high school. My life as a student was fairly enjoyable. Although it was a short period of time, I could see old faces and talk with them in a normal way. I was able to keep up with the topics of conversation because I was mostly focused on the entrance examinations. Other topics were too old for me, so it was hard for me to keep up with them.
February.
The day of the exam. Just as I remember, it was an exam at the school I wanted to go to. I don’t remember what was on the exam or the questions at that time. I don’t remember what was asked in the exam or the questions at that time. So, I just had to show the results of my study for the past two months or so.
I may look like a junior high school student, but I have the brains of an adult.
I was feeling pretty good about my performance.
I hope I can make it.
◇
After some time had passed, it was the day of the announcement of the acceptance.
I went to the high school with my mother. I had come early, but there were so many students in school uniforms that the place was jammed.
I thought it would be better to go alone than with my mother.
“I’m going to check it out by myself.”
“Yeah. Come home quickly”
Mom looked worried. I’ll be fine. I studied so hard.
I memorized the number on my examination voucher and made my way through the crowd.
I checked my number against the list of numbers posted in front of the school building.
(Where’s …… wrong …… this side——-there it is!)
“Okay!”
“Ah, …….”
At the same time I found my number, the girl next to me also made a sound.
I thought the voice sounded familiar …… and saw that it was Yorumiya.
“Yorumiya?”
“Shuu-kun?”
Certainly, the schools we attend are the same. It wouldn’t be strange if we met.
Even so, it was quite a coincidence that we met.
I rolled my eyes, and Yorumiya showed me the examination form.
“I was accepted…..Shuu-kun?”
“Yeah. I got in too.”
I don’t have the examination form, but I nodded and showed it to her.
Yorumiya was relieved – she narrowed her eyes and smiled loosely.
“Now we can go to high school together, right?”
The moment I saw that smile,…… something popped inside me.
My face suddenly became hot and my vision moistened.
Tears spilled from the corners of my eyes and I hurriedly wiped my cheeks with my hand.
“Eh …… eh? Um, what’s wrong? Shuu-kun?”
“No, no,…… this!”
B-Bad. I’m in tears.
Before the time leap, Yorumiya lost everything.
I, too, had my legs entangled that day and was living without any will.
But not this time. Beyond that Christmas day, I was able to protect Yorumiya’s smile. I decided to start over, and I was able to accomplish it.
That is what brought tears to my eyes.
As I began to cry, Yorumiya approached me and hugged me tightly and gently.
W-What?!
“Were you that happy about passing?”
“Eh, No,”
“Then I’ll …… pet you until you stop crying.”
“N-Noo…… ….. hey …… hey…”
Then a mysterious composition of a crying boy and a beautiful girl patting his head with loving hands was formed in the crowd. People around us were staring at us in the distance with surprised faces.
I later learned that because of this incident, Yorumiya had come to be called the “saint” by everyone at school.
I felt so drained that I just kept crying in Yorumiya’s arms.
I was sobbing in her arms. …… After a while, my mother, who had reached the end of her patience, came over and looked at me crying and was very surprised to see me.
