The Day After My Girlfriend Cheated on Me, My Female Friend Suddenly Started Seducing Me. ~The Protagonist’s Struggle Begins With a Revenge Drama~
“Then it’s time for the players to enter the men’s dodgeball finals !”
The two teams competing for the men’s dodgeball championship entered slowly to the call of the MC. Rei looked at one of the third year class 4 teams, against which the second year class 3 teams led by Rei were competing.
He was a man who was not quite the same age as the other two. His muscular body caught the attention of the spectators who had come to the venue to watch the match.
His name is Samejima Shuuta. Although Rei did not know him, his name was familiar to him.
Honda Yuu, who has now left the school, was friends with several of his cronies. One of them was him. He was a bodyguard, keeping out anyone who was disrespectful to him because of his size.
“The second year class 3 had won the tournament so far ! Against them were the third year class 4 teams, who had defeated the favorites with their excellent combinations ! Which team will take the glory !”
Across the court, Rei glanced at Shuuta. The reason for Honda’s disappearance is largely self-inflicted, but if you think about it from an other-blame perspective, you can say that Rei is partly responsible for the disappearance. Rei believed that there was a good chance that he was holding a grudge against him.
But that did not mean that he could kill him. Rei told himself to calm his mind. However, he could not shake off his anxiety.
“Now, then, players, please get ready for the match !”
The players scattered to their respective positions.
One for each outfield. They could return to the infield only once. In contrast, there were seven players in the infield. The player with the most infielders wins.
The ball is sent to each court. There are two balls in dodgeball at this Nanasei High ball game tournament. You can either blame each other, or you can hold two and put pressure on each other.
“Now that we’re ready, let’s begin ! The referee’s whistle starts the game !
Now, referee, blow the whistle to start the match !”
“…Let’s go, Hiori. Let’s beat these guys and win the championship.”
“….I’ll do it my way.”
The whistle of the referee sounded loudly. The final match was set to begin.
At first, the two teams started by watching each other. Waiting for each other’s moves is easy, after all.
“Oraaa !”
The outfielders of the three teams threw the ball by surprise. The ball flew toward the backs of the opposing infielders. The surprise attack seemed to signal the start of the game.
However, this was a player who had made it to the finals. He flipped and ducked the ball. The ball passed through the court without hitting any player.
“Haha, it can’t be that easy to hit…”
“Too bad !”
However. There was already a player waiting at the destination of the ball. He quickly bounced the ball back and hit the player in the abdomen. First of all, it was one out.
“Oops ! There was a dropout from the third year class 4 ! The team that got off to a good start was the second year class 3 !”
Dropping one infielder does not mean that the game will not go in their favor. The opponent’s outfield has increased to two players, and the opponent has possession of two balls. The first player to drop is at a disadvantage in this game. From this point on, the key is to catch the ball with the least amount of damage.
You might think, [If that were the case, I could have just sacrificed one of my players.] Unfortunately, however, the second year class 2 are full of old-fashioned hot-blooded idiots. They don’t have the brains to think about such things.
“Guys, we’ll catch it no matter what ! You hear me!”
[ [ [‘Course !] ] ]
Shinmon’s call gets the whole team fired up. They got into a position to catch the ball with their backs to the ball.
The third year team had two outfielders, which made it possible for them to play around the ball. The second year team needed to stop the ball first in order to win.
The third year team used the two balls to rotate the ball in a triangle shape, using the infield as well. The rotation had a pressing pressure and the tension of a battlefield.
In the spinning battlefield court, Rei sharpened his mind. He directs his attention to the gaps that are created momentarily between the distractions of concentration and focus.
In the midst of the ball rolling, there was a wind noise that could be described as a strange sound.
(Here it comes…!)
Rei immediately turns around. He caught the flying ball with both hands as if to wrap it up.
(Got it ! That should help a little bit…)
“Ugh !?”
With a dull thud, the sound of a player falling down echoed. It was the sound of one of his teammates being blown away. The sound of the impact, as if he had been hit by gunfire, and the sense of loss of his teammate sent Rei into a pinch.
(…The ball, I couldn’t see it.)
Rei shuddered amidst the cheers that rose up. One person dropped out and the ball remained. The ball whose trajectory could not be seen was thrown by none other than Shuuta.
The person in question seemed unconcerned, as if what he had just done was normal. It must be true. Rei was sure of it.
“Sato, are you all right?”
“I’m fine…sort of. I’m not sure what it is. I can’t even take it easy on him. He’s a monster. …Be careful.”
Rei held his arms down and looked away from his teammates as they headed for the outfield.
The prospect of a decisive battle was stimulating Rei’s mind.
