I’m Tired of My Childhood Friend Playing Pranks on Me, so I Want to Date a Female Friend Who Loves Me Sincerely
When Rika arrived at school, she headed straight for her classroom without saying anything.
Well, the reason was probably because Kagumo-san walked up to me as soon as we passed through the school gate.
I don’t know what kind of photo she showed her yesterday, but Rika must have decided that Kagumo-san was a nuisance.
“Good morning, Ayato.”
“Good morning… Did you change the way you address me?”
I remember being called by my first name until yesterday, but now I’m being called without “kun”. Is there some intention behind this?
“Yes, we’ve become friends, haven’t we? I think it’s okay to call by name now.”
“We have become friends, that’s for sure.”
Perhaps because I’ve been with Rika since middle school, there are people I talk to a little, but there has never been anyone like Kagumo-san who I talk to every day.
“So, Ayato, you should call me by my first name too.”
“Is it okay if I call you Nagiri san?”
“Well, that’s fine for now. I have something to talk to you about.”
She looked serious. She said it was important, so we went to the rooftop.
“About yesterday, I heard a rumor.”
“A rumor?”
Did she mean the incident yesterday with the slick guys that Rika was hanging out with? I hadn’t heard any good rumors about them before, but I could tell from Nagiri’s expression that it was something bad.
“Yes, there’s a rumor that they’re extorting money when that girl isn’t around.”
“Extorting money? Money?”
“Yes, there have been eyewitness reports.”
“Isn’t that a crime?”
“It’s a crime, so it’s bad.”
According to Nagiri, they seem to be extorting money in roughly the same place about once a week.
Rika seems to have been treated to meals with that money every time. Of course, Rika didn’t know about it and seemed to be hanging out with them as friends.
“Hire a bodyguard, gather evidence, and report it to the school. Then we can punish them.”
“I agree with punishing them, but I don’t think we need a bodyguard.”
Why is she going to such lengths for Rika?
Getting involved in such strange matters must have many disadvantages for her.
“Why? It’s dangerous, isn’t it?”
“Well, I haven’t told anyone around me, but I used to practice karate.”
“Really?”
“Just for three years when I was in middle school.”
I’ve liked Rika since then, so I asked my father to let me start karate so that I could protect her in the future.
I’m not particularly skilled, but I’m confident that I can definitely beat an amateur.
“That’s just opportunism.”
“No, I have a good reason.”
“Hmm, I can kind of guess from Ayato’s personality. I envy it.”
