Mob Character Reincarnation Loner: As a Result of Supporting the Heroine Who Had Been Rejected, I Ended up Being the Recipient of Her Heavy Emotions…

“I’m so sleepy…”

When I entered the classroom that morning, I immediately lay down on my desk and tried to sleep.

It was a bit tough going to school after talking on the phone until 2:00 a.m.

I might not be able to sleep for even 10 minutes, but I had to get at least a little nap…

“Good morning!”

I heard a cheerful voice. That voice is… Nanase.

“Good morning, Hiyori. What’s wrong? You’re a little late today.”

“Oh, Hoshinon! I went to bed late yesterday, so I couldn’t wake up at my usual time.”

Hoshino is Nanase Hiyori’s best friend, Tsukimi Hoshino.

Nanase calls her close friends, such as Tsukimi Hoshino and the main heroine Ayabe Ichika, by their nicknames.

She is very close to the friends she calls by their nicknames, and they are special to Nanase Hiyori.

However, the “nickname calling” that is only allowed for her special friends has not yet been used by the boys.

Even the protagonist, Kamito, is called Tenma.

In a way, she is a special existence different from Kamito. Therefore, all the boys in school are eagerly targeting that special existence.

Well, even if such a person were to appear, they would probably be ridiculed by all the boys in school.

My consciousness gradually began to fade, and I was about to fall asleep.

“Ah, Bun kun! Good morning!”

At that moment, the atmosphere in the classroom changed, and my drowsy consciousness suddenly woke up.

…Bun-kun?

“Huh? Who’s Bun-kun?”

“Is that Nanase’s nickname?”

“And it sounds like a boy’s name…”

I could hear whispers… and envy in their voices.

…There must be a boy named Bun kun

So, hurry up and respond to the greeting, Bun

“Hiyori? Who is Bun-kun?”

Tsukimi asked Nanase what everyone in the class was probably thinking.

“Huh? The guy sleeping over there, Irie Bun-kun.”

The guy sleeping over there, Irie Bun-kun?

……………………………That’s me.

All of a sudden, I felt everyone’s eyes on me.

I feel like I’m going to throw up.

“Hey, Bun-kun. Wake up or class will start~!”

Nanase came over and shook me to wake me up.

I don’t want to lift my face…!!

There’s no way I can lift my face—the whole class is staring at me! If I lift my face, it’ll be hell!!

“Oh, right. Yesterday, we…”

“Good morning, Nanase-san. It’s such a nice day today.”

I can’t let her say anymore. Because it’s related to my school life. Talking on the phone with Nanase Hiyori until midnight… It’s a recipe for disaster.

“Oh, good morning. I was surprised to wake up suddenly.”

“…I’m always like this when I wake up.”

“…I see?”

I don’t understand what I’m saying myself, but Nanase seems to agree.

“By the way, what about… Bun-kun?”

“Huh? It’s Irie Bungaku-kun, so Bun-kun.”

No, no. That’s not it. That’s not what I want to know.

“Ah, the nickname…”

“Oh, yeah. I call my close friends by their nicknames… Oh, Bun kun is the first boy I’ve done that with.”

Yes, that’s right.

“…Were we really that close?”

“Well, to be honest, we’re not that close now.”

Eh…

“Then why…”

“Because I want to become closer with bun kun from now on…”

Is that because of what happened yesterday? If so, then…

“…I didn’t do anything special.”

“Really? I felt pretty saved.”

Nanase laughed and then looked serious.

“…I was saved.”

Nanase’s eyes fixed on me. I couldn’t help but hold my breath at the sincerity I saw in her eyes.

“I see…”

“That’s right.”

All I could do was nod, and Nanase smiled back at me.

“Morning homeroom is about to start, so no more sleeping in!”

Nanase said that and returned to her seat. I felt like my classmates were looking at me as if they wanted to say something, but I was relieved when the morning assembly started right away.

After that, time flew by.

Usually, it felt like it would take forever until lunch break, but on that day, it came in the blink of an eye.

When lunch break started, groups formed immediately, and my classmates who were eating their lunches stared at me as if they were observing me.

In situations like this, it’s best to go outside.

I hurriedly left the classroom and stepped into the hallway, only to be stopped by Nanase-san.

“Hey, Bun kun. Where are you going?”

“Uh, just to the cafeteria…”

“Oh, me too.”

“Hiyori-chan.”

Suddenly, a cute voice came from behind me.

I turned around involuntarily and saw Ayabe Ichika, the main heroine of “Tenichi.”

Ayabe was a beautiful girl with well-groomed, shiny cream-colored straight hair and a well-proportioned face. She was incredibly cute. It wouldn’t be strange to call her a high-class girl.

“Hana-chan! What’s wrong?”

Ichika bowed slightly toward me, then turned to Hiyori with sparkling eyes.

“Hiyori-chan. Would you like to have lunch with Tenma-kun and me today?”

It seemed she had come to invite us to lunch. Even though we were in different classes… she had come all the way here just for that.

“Ah, um… well…”

“…Did you not want to eat with me?”

“Eh, no… that’s not it!”

Ayabe’s expression clouded over at the indecisive response. Seeing this, Nanase turned pale.

Well, Ayabe was just inviting her to lunch, so she probably thought she was rejecting her.

Nanase had her own reasons, but she couldn’t possibly know that.

Nanase gripped her skirt tightly.

“I’m sorry, Ayabe-san. It’s my fault.”

“…Huh?”

Ichika looked at me with a surprised expression.

“Actually, I’ve been consulting Nanase-san about love, and we agreed to talk during lunch break.”

Of course, I hadn’t said anything like that. It was a complete lie.

“Oh! I’m sorry. You had a prior engagement, didn’t you?”

“That’s right! I’m sorry, Hana-chan.”

“No, I’m sorry. I’ll invite you again.”

“Okay. Thank you!”

Ayabe bowed to me and left.

“Ah… It must be tough to still be with Kamito, right? It’s not weird at all.”

I didn’t want to see her face for about a month after someone rejected me either.

“……………… It’s important to have someone who understands you.”

Saying that, Nanase pulled on my sleeve.

“I’m really lucky…”

How can she say she’s lucky after being rejected by the boy she likes… What a good girl she is.

As I marveled at her, Nanase looked at me and smiled strangely.

“Well, let’s get started with Bun kun’s love advice session!”

Nanase nudged me with her elbow, grinning.

“…Don’t tease me. I’ll eat at the cafeteria then.”

“Oh, I’ll come too. I’ll bring my lunch box, so wait for me.”

“Huh? Why?”

I asked without thinking, and Nanase looked away shyly and said.

“Well, I just feel like spending time with Bunn kuntoday…”

Huh, so that means…

“…I’ll listen if it’s not just complaining.”

“…You’re so mean.”

She playfully punched my chest and went to get her lunch box.
