How I, a Hated Person, Ended Up Staying With Three Beautiful Sisters
A week had passed since we started the study group, and it was now May 27th.
Although it was four days before the test, today was the school’s founding anniversary, so classes were canceled.
It was just past eight in the morning.
I slowly got up from the sofa and called out to Akane senpai, who was making breakfast in the dining room.
“Akane senpai?”
“Hmm? What is it?”
“What time are we starting studying today?”
“I want to start by ten, right? I mean, learning from you, Kojiro kun, has been so much fun lately! I’ve even been studying in my room before bed lately!”
I know.
On weekdays, we have a three-hour study session in the living room right after school. Weekends are study sessions from morning till night. Even before bed, I get LINE messages from the three sisters asking me to teach them.
So, I did feel like I wanted to relax on my days off.
“I don’t get breaks…”
“Sorry about that—I’ll make lots of delicious food, so please forgive me!”
Then, due to Akane senpai’s devilish declaration, “So, how about we go full steam ahead from morning today~♪,” the study session was scheduled to start at 9 AM. What was supposed to be 10 AM got moved up to 9.
Maho and Miyu, who woke up later than me, were stunned by this fact, but the study session inevitably began.
Maho silently slammed her reference book onto the sofa table, while Miyu reluctantly opened her notebook.
Even so, Miyu’s transformation was astonishing.
Since that day, Miyu had stopped hiding how smart she was.
Her “acting” seemed to have ended decisively, and now even her posture as she faced the problem book made her seem like a different person.
At first, she’d flip through the pages with a dazed expression, but now she gripped her pen firmly, silently solving problems while carefully considering her pace.
Her concentration was like that of a seasoned exam warrior.
Her answers were almost flawless, and she tackled even the application problems with ease.
Akane senpai stopped writing and gaped, her mouth agape.
“…Miyu chan, finally, huh?”
Our eyes met involuntarily, but all I could do was give a small shrug.
I knew, but I didn’t know how to explain it.
“You’re solving these way too fast…?”
Maho murmurs, looking perplexed.
Comparing her own pace to Miyu’s, she clearly shows signs of frustration.
As for Miyu herself, she still has that dreamy expression, but her hands never stop moving.
“Answers just keep popping into my head. Just now, the sound of my mechanical pencil lead snapping gave me an idea.”
“Could you stop with those psychic-like comments?”
Maho protested in a low voice, but Miyu just chuckled softly and moved on to the next page without a second thought.
It wasn’t like her personality had changed so drastically you’d wonder what happened. It was just that her secret had vanished, and it was impressive how different she was now.
She’d always been smart. She’d finally allowed herself to acknowledge it.
Maybe that was all it was, but not many people could do that.
“Miyu chan, you’re super sharp today. Maybe even the sharpest among us?”
“I think it’s because Onii chan teaches me.”
“Huh? Maybe you two have secret training sessions?”
Akane senpai chuckled teasingly. Her voice had a detached tone to it.
“Secret training? What’s that supposed to mean?! You weren’t doing anything weird, were you?!”
I couldn’t tell if Maho suddenly raised her voice because she was flustered or just being her usual tsundere self.
“What do you mean, ‘weird’? You always say that.”
“…W-weird is weird! Trying to make a maiden say something like that. ….You really are a pervert!”
“Yeah, yeah.”
I just said that and exhaled. Maho relaxed, back to her usual self.
“Kojiro kun, thank you. Miyu chan has changed so much…for the better.”
Akane senpai whispered in my ear.
“…No big deal. I didn’t do anything.”
“No way. You’re just being shy~. Miyu chan, what do you think? Isn’t Onii chan amazing?”
“Yeah. I think it’s thanks to Onii chan. Really.”
When Miyu said that quietly but clearly, Akane senpai gave a meaningful “Hmm” and sipped her tea.
Maho, seeing her profile, was somehow sulking.
“…Haa, what’s with this vibe?”
Muttering to herself, Maho turned back to her desk and resumed studying.
At this rate, it seemed I wouldn’t need to teach them anymore.
Each was tackling their own tasks, studying diligently on their own initiative.
Things should be fine even after June.

That night, I got a message from Dad for the first time in ages.
Opening LINE, I found a rare string of unusually high-energy text.
[Hey, Kojiro! How’s it going?! Finally found an absolutely amazing room! But the location…still a secret! Heh heh heh!]
“…What the hell is that?”
I couldn’t help but voice my reaction aloud, but I typed a reply without even marking it as read.
[Let me know by the 31st at the latest, okay? Even with just a few things, I need time to prepare for the move.]
Seconds after the read receipt popped up, a sticker came back instantly. Dad seemed genuinely excited.
Then, a slightly more serious message arrived.
[So, how are things going with the three sisters?]
I stared at my phone for just a moment before typing out my reply, word by word.
“Well, so-so.”
Akane senpai still gets too bold with her advances sometimes, but she does read the room.
Maho is rebellious, but she has this weird presence in class and seems to be trying to clear up my bad reputation.
Lately, she feels kinder.
Miyu is exactly as you’d expect. I think she’s changed the most.
But,
[I still think being with me is bad for them]
I typed that out, and my hand paused just a little.
Even when Akane senpai speaks to me, or Maho glares at those around her, the way people treat me at school hasn’t changed dramatically.
They laugh at me, avoid me, give me weird nicknames. I’m used to it, but that atmosphere is just too toxic to drag anyone else into.
So—
[I think things will naturally settle down once I leave here]
I pressed send and flipped my phone face down.
Right.
If I’m gone, the three sisters will surely go back to living peacefully as before.
That should be best…at least, that’s what I think.
