“Yeah, yeah. You’re doing great, Kana.”

“Yeah. You’ve really gotten the hang of it. You’re making good progress.”

“Mm-hmm! You’re amazing, Kana-chan!!”

“Ehehe, thanks, all three of you!!”

It’s been over a week since I got sick, and final exams start tomorrow.

Right now, we’re doing our last study session before the tests, talking on the phone.

For the past few days, we’d been studying together at night over the phone, but honestly, it was a bit harder than meeting in person to teach each other, or maybe just more challenging?

Still, since I’d never had this kind of experience before, it was kind of fun for me, and I enjoyed it.

But then, glancing at the clock, I realized it was getting pretty late.

“It’s already this late…”

“It really is. Time just flies, doesn’t it?”

“I guess it’s about time to wrap up.”

“When you’re really focused on studying, time just flies by, huh?”

The test starts tomorrow, so staying up late isn’t really a good idea.

“Well then, let’s call it a night. All three of us, let’s do our best on the test starting tomorrow.”

“Yeah, you’re right. We all worked hard up until today, so let’s give it our all during the actual test too.”

“Yeah. Kana, you worked really hard too.”

“It’s all thanks to you three!! If you guys weren’t here, there’s no way I could’ve worked this hard!!!”

“No way you could’ve… Don’t say that so confidently…”

“That’s right, Kana-chan. You’ve been amazing these past two weeks.”

“But if you guys weren’t here, I probably would’ve given up halfway, right?”

I don’t really know how true it is that it was because we were there. If Kana had decided to push through, she might have done it on her own even without us teaching her.

Well, honestly, I don’t think that part matters much.

Whether we taught her or not, whether we were there or not, I think what’s important is that Kana pushed through on her own will.

“Isn’t that fine? Kana was trying hard, and that fact alone is enough.”

“You might be right about that.”

“Yeah, she was definitely trying hard, but you two spoil Kana way too much… What would she do if we weren’t around?”

Miku’s probably talking about how we’ve been with her up until now, not just this one time… But honestly, we do spoil Kana too much, and there’s no denying that.

Saki and I both think we’re pretty soft on her quite often… But when it comes to Kana, we just end up like that… Well, to be honest, I’m kinda fine with it too.

When it’s absolutely unacceptable, we just need to be firm and clear about it.

Just as I was thinking that, Kana spoke up.

“It’s okay, Miku-nee! I’ve decided I’m going to stay with all three of you forever!!! Is that not how you feel, Miku-nee?”

Kana said this looking a little sad, and after a short pause, Miku replied, looking embarrassed.

“…I never said that, did I? I, I feel the same way… Of course I do… Wait! That’s not what matters right now!! But that doesn’t mean you can get too spoiled, okay!?”

The fact she said “don’t get too spoiled” instead of “don’t get spoiled” really shows Miku’s kindness.

Deep down, Miku wants to spoil Kana too, but she also knows she has to be strict for Kana’s own good.

“Alright, alright, both of you calm down. Besides, we have tests tomorrow, so it’s about time everyone went to bed. If you try to tackle them without sleep, you won’t last more than a few days.”

True, it’s a 12-subject test. Since it spans several days, pulling all-nighters or going in sleep-deprived probably isn’t a good idea.

If you end up sleeping during the test… well, it’d be a disaster.

I know plenty of people try to tackle tests after pulling all-nighters, but personally, I can’t really recommend it.

“You’re right. Getting sleepy during the test would be bad too. Let’s all just go to bed tonight.”

“We’ve got tomorrow, the day after, and the day after that too, so let’s do that.”

“If Seito-senpai says so, then let’s do it!! I’m even more confident this time than last time, so please look forward to it!!!”

“Alright then, I’ll be looking forward to it.”

“Yes! Well then, everyone, good night!!”

“Good night.”

And so we ended the call.

“Phew… Everyone seems in good shape.”

Miku is, of course, incredibly smart to begin with, so she’s fine. As for Saki, I think she can aim for a higher rank than last time.

Last time, Saki was 10th, and she said she wanted to aim for the top 5 this time. I’d be happy if she could make it.

As for Miku… I wonder how she’ll do? Right after the midterms, she was upset about losing to me, but is she aiming for first place this time?

Well, even if she is, I have absolutely no intention of letting her win on purpose.

I know for sure she’s not the type who’d be happy if I did that.

As for me, I’m pretty confident.

Well, I can’t say I won’t make any careless mistakes, so I can’t exactly say for sure I’ll get a perfect score on everything! !!”

“Kana really worked hard too, so she should be fine.”

Kana’s midterm ranking was usually around the middle of the class.

We both think she’s definitely capable of aiming higher this time.

If I had to pick something, English felt a bit shaky, but she did really well in math and stuff, so that should cover it.

Everyone worked incredibly hard, and I feel like we did everything we could.

By the way, Kana was complaining a bit, but it seems Nanashima was playing games with friends until late at night again, even during this test period.

And as Miku and Saki mentioned, lately Miku has been scolding Nanashima much less to get him to behave. Whether that’s the reason or not, it seems he’s studying even less than before.

What on earth is Nanashima thinking?

It might sound weird for me to say this since I’m in the same position as the three of them, but it’s undeniable that the time he spends with Miku and Saki has also decreased significantly, yet he doesn’t seem to be doing anything about it… Personally, I thought Nanashima liked Miku and Saki…

Does he not realize Miku and Saki’s feelings are drifting away? Honestly, I don’t really get it. Maybe since Miku stopped scolding him, he feels free to enjoy staying up late gaming with his friends? That’s what I wondered.

Well, whatever…

“Looking forward to things with Saki too…”

I still don’t know Harumi-san’s true intentions, but I’m pretty sure it’s exactly what I think it is.

If the timing’s right, maybe things with Saki could progress too. Anyway, I’ll just enjoy it.

“Alright… I guess I’ll go to sleep too.”
