After I Saved Kirigiri San, a Cool, Sharp-tongued Gyaru, From a Pick-up, She Started Coming Into My House the Next Day

Lunch break—the morning classes are over and it’s time for the long-awaited lunch.

Normally I would have eaten a sandwich from the convenience store, but this time I have Kirigiri’s lunch box.

(Okay ! Looks like I’ll be fine.)

I take out the lunch box that Kirigiri made for me.

But thank goodness Haga is not here today.

If he were here, he would have seen this pretty pink bento and instantly read that I have a woman close to me.

I should be thankful for Haga’s laziness.

“Let’s eat up quickly.”

When was the last time I ate a homemade bento……?

It might have been since my mother made it for me when I was in junior high school. I opened my lunch box with great anticipation.

(Seriously…..)

When I opened the lid, I was greeted with side dishes that far exceeded my imagination.

On the top tier were an omelet and two hamburgers, a beautifully arranged fried burdock root, fresh cabbage, and cherry tomatoes.

On the bottom tier were two rice balls covered with seaweed.

(Amazing. This is the work of a professional……)

I knew she was a good cook, of course, but I didn’t expect the quality of her bento to be this high.

Even though she makes lunch boxes every day, it must be a lot of work for her to make one for me.

Staring at the contents would arouse suspicion from the people around me, so I clasped my hands together and, after expressing my deepest gratitude to Kirigiri, put the king of the bento, the omelet, into my mouth.

“Ummm…….”

It is so delicious that my voice leaks out.

The inside is half-cooked, meltingly thick and fluffy on the outside. The moment I put the omelet in my mouth, it was gone.

The hamburger steak was also made into bite-sized pieces, making it easy to eat, and of course, it tasted delicious.

Next was the burdock root, which was not too spicy, and the slightly spicy flavor made the white rice go down a treat.

(It was heavenly……)

Next, I picked up an onigiri and brought it to my mouth. Apparently, one onigiri has salmon and the other has ume plum.

I could sense that he was thinking of the person he was eating it with and trying not to bore them.

“It’s delicious, as expected of Kirigiri.”

“What was that?”

“Ha……!?”

Haga was behind me, staring at the lunch box with a dubious look on his face.

I was caught off guard. I had been distracted by the deliciousness of the lunch box.

“Don’t be so surprised…..what’s with that lunch box?”

“Ah, no, this is…….”

This is bad, of all people, it was this person who shouldn’t have seen me…

I, who usually eat sandwiches from convenience stores, am holding a pink lunch box and eating my lunch with an enraptured face.

I can’t help but feel a little uncomfortable. I mean, objectively speaking, it’s creepy.

This guy always does this at important times… I realized that there was nothing I could do even if I complained, so I thought about how to get through this situation.

If I had siblings, I might have come up with a good excuse, but alas, I’m an only child.

“Oh, this is…..my mom coming over for the first time in a long time and making me lunch…..I knew I  had a great mother….””

“Your mother is back?”

“Well yeah.”

I’m not lying. The other day it came like a sudden downpour and then disappeared in an instant…

“That’s suspicious~you’re still hiding something, aren’t you…..?”

Haga looks at me with a smirk as if probing for something.

I’m disgusted by how sharp his intuition is as always. This is my trump card.

“Oh, by the way, Chinatsu came up to me earlier and said she wanted to meet you.”

“Eh !? Seriously?”

It was a lie. But we’re dealing with Haga. I thought that if his precious girlfriend was calling him, he would be the first to go.

“Oh, she’s probably feeling lonely right now.”

“What a hopeless guy ! Just go !”

I was relieved to see the troublemaker leave the classroom at a brisk pace.

(Thank goodness he was a simpleton……)

I looked at Kirigiri casually and our eyes met.

I’m not sure if she saw the whole thing between me and Haga, but she was looking at me a little uneasily.

[(Kinoshita) What’s wrong?]

I was curious and decided to take the plunge and send a message to Kirigiri.

Come to think of it, this might be the first time I’ve sent a message to Kirigiri.

[(Kirigiri) Nothing.]

[(Kirigiri) Or rather, what did you think?]

I was dealing with Haga and forgot to tell Kirigiri what I thought about her bento.

[(Kinoshita) This was the most delicious bento I’ve ever had.]

I honestly told her what I thought of the bento.

[(Kirigiri) Which one did you like the most?]

[(Kinoshita) All of them.]

[(Kirigiri) You’re overreacting, but I’m glad.]

[(Kinoshita) I’ll wash the lunch box and return it to you.]

[(Kirigiri) Okay.]

It was her usual bland reply, but Kirigiri looked at me and smiled.

When I first met her, she gave off a scary vibe because she always glared at me, but recently I feel like Kirigiri’s expression has softened.

I was genuinely happy that Kirigiri and I were getting closer and closer.

It is not that I have romantic feelings for her, and we act as strangers at school. I was beginning to enjoy our daily routine of acting as strangers at school, cooking and playing games at home.
