After I Saved Kirigiri San, a Cool, Sharp-tongued Gyaru, From a Pick-up, She Started Coming Into My House the Next Day

One week has already passed since Kirigiri started coming to my house.

I was feeling impatient with the contract period that was fast approaching, so I took the trouble to call Kirigiri over to my house to ask her to teach me the basics of cooking.

“So, Kirigiri sensei. I look forward to working with you today.”

“Yes.”

We stand in the small kitchen, both wearing aprons. Kirigiri had brought her own pink apron from home. Her hair was in a ponytail, and she was in cooking mode.

“So, what are we making today?”

“I think I’ll make stir-fried vegetables today. I recommend it because it’s easy even for beginners and you can learn how to cut vegetables.”

Kirigiri sensei teaches me the benefits of making stir-fried vegetables.

Carrots, bean sprouts, cabbage, green bell pepper, and shiitake mushrooms are laid out on the cutting board. Kirigiri bought these ingredients in advance. Of course, I had already paid for my own portion before I forgot.

“Then let’s start with the carrots.”

“Oh, okay.”

I washed the carrots with water with awkward movements, then picked up a knife and tried to peel them.

“H-hold on a sec !”

Kirigiri saw this and immediately pointed it out.

I wonder if there was anything unnatural about my current behavior…….

“What about the peeler?”

“There’s no such convenient tool.” I said, tilting my head, and Kirigiri sighed.

“Let me take care of that. It’s dangerous for a beginner to do without a peeler.”

With that, she picked up a carrot and carefully peeled it like she would peel an apple. The carrots are being stripped naked in no time at all.

I was impressed to see the carrot peel connected in one piece without any interruption.

“As expected of Kirigiri sensei. Your dexterous hands are as expected.”

“Don’t call me that.”

“Oh, yes…….”

I was just trying to make a joke from a cooking show, but she didn’t seem to like it. I will not do it in the future.

After that, I cut the vegetables by imitating how Kirigiri cut them.

Unlike the way Kirigiri cut the vegetables, the cuts were a little messy, but I guess it won’t make a difference once it’s in my stomach.

“Yeah. Looks good. Kinoshita, you’re getting good at it.”

“Well, yeah.”

I was happy to be praised so honestly.

I used to be able to chop only, but this time I could learn how to cut it into strips, wedges, and other various ways.

“Then, let’s fry them next.”

The cut vegetables were neatly arranged in a row.

I picked up a bean sprout, wondering which one to stir-fry first.

“Boo !”

“Eh !?”

Suddenly, she pointed out cutely with her lips pouting like a duck.

I was just holding a bean sprout, so what exactly did I do wrong?

“Listen. When frying, put in the ingredients that are hard to heat up first !”

Kirigiri sensei said, holding up her index finger.

I remember my home economics teacher in junior high school saying something like that.

“If you put in the vegetables first, which are easier to cook, they will burn, you see?”

“T-that’s true. Thank you for telling me.”

“You’re welcome.”

Then, as Kirigiri had pointed out, I started frying the carrots first, as they are the slowest to cook.

“Like this?”

“Yes, slowly fry them so they don’t burn.”

Recently, as I have been standing in the kitchen like this, I have been thinking about something.

Cooking together is pure fun.

This is also thanks to Kirigiri.

After seasoning the vegetables with salt and pepper, I managed to finish arranging them on a plate.

My impressions after tasting it were–

“Yum !”

The sweetness of the carrots and the crunchiness of the vegetables were exquisite.

Some of the vegetables were a little tough because they were undercooked, but they had a nice crunch to them, which was probably a good thing.

“Mm-hmm.”

Kirigiri nodded as she ate the stir-fried vegetables. Judging from her reaction, it seems I passed the test.

If I ever learn to cook on my own, I will serve Kirigiri. Thanks to Kirigiri, I’ve learned the joy of cooking, and I’d like to repay her in that way.

“Thanks to Kirigiri, I was able to make a delicious stir-fried vegetable dish. Thanks for today.”

“I was surprised when Kinoshita suddenly asked me to teach him how to cook. I’m glad it turned out well.”

Kirigiri said in a gentle tone.

Even so, Kirigiri’s teaching method is very easy to understand. When you do it well, she praises you properly, and when you do it wrong, she scolds you. As expected of the great teacher Kirigiri.

Then Kirigiri put the stir-fried vegetables on the table and started staring at the TV.

“What’s wrong? You’re just staring at the TV…is there something you wanna watch?”

“Let me have my revenge again today.”

“Revenge?”

“Look, a game. I’ve come all the way here. And I’m not going home without doing something.”

“Oh, okay.”

After eating stir-fried vegetables, we enjoyed gaming until the sun went down.
