I, Who Was Reincarnated as an Evil Character With Cheat-Level Stats in an Eroge, Will Live Freely in This Life
“Okay, since there have been so many requests, we’re going to change seats even though it’s before the test. But I want to remind you that you all said you would concentrate on studying for the test if we changed seats, so make sure you do that.”
At the Tuesday morning assembly, our homeroom teacher suddenly said that.
I know that my classmates had been asking the teacher to change seats all the time, but was this the right timing?
Well, even though I’m saying this, I’m happy because my current seat is close to the center of the classroom, and I’ve been wanting to move to the edge.
If possible, I’d like the seat at the back by the window. It’s the most relaxing seat.
So, one by one, everyone went up to the front of the classroom and drew lots, and eventually everyone, including me, had finished.
◇
It’s now the second period, and the subject is math.
The lessons covering the test range are over, so it’s mainly self-study.
Some of my classmates are studying while consulting with the people next to them, while others are concentrating on their own.
Incidentally, as a result of the seat change, I ended up one seat to the right of my ideal seat, but since it’s the back row, it’s pretty good.
“Um… why is it like this?”
I heard that mutter from next to me, so I turned my head to look.
The girl who sat next to me was, as I could tell from her way of speaking, Miku
Since we sat next to each other, we had only said “nice to meet you” once, and had hardly spoken since.
I glanced at what Miku was doing, and saw that it was a difficult problem that required a little ingenuity even if you had a good foundation, and was one of the hardest in the test range.
When Miku tilted her head, she seemed to notice that I was watching her and said,
“Why are you looking over here?”
“No, I just noticed that you seemed confused.”
Our voices were so quiet that no one else in the noisy classroom could hear us.
“Yeah, it is a difficult problem, so I guess I was talking out loud.”
“Do you want me to explain it to you?”
“…Please do.”
I had asked her expecting her to refuse, so I was a little surprised when she agreed.
I knew she was competitive, and I had heard from Kana that she was frustrated because she had never beaten me on a test, so I didn’t think she would ask me to teach her.
With that in mind, I moved my seat a little closer and started teaching her.
A little while later, after I finished teaching her, I moved my seat back to its original position, and then I received a note from Miku.
(Thank you, you really helped me… It’s so easy once you understand it.)
I guess you could say she was amazing, but she was incredibly quick to understand and had a high level of comprehension.
(But was it okay?)
(What do you mean, was it okay?)
(I said I’d teach you, but talking to me in class might cause trouble, right? There are a lot of people around.)
Fortunately, Miku and I were sitting at the far end of the classroom, the two people in front of us were asleep, and the person next to us had moved seats, so no one noticed us talking.
Well, the fact that it only took a few minutes to teach her probably helped too.
Incidentally, Nanashima’s seat is right in front of us, so it’s the hardest place to see… or rather, Nanashima is asleep, so there’s no way he could notice.
The other classmates seem to be studying relatively hard.
As I was thinking about that, Miku said,
(That’s about Tsubasa, isn’t it?}
(Well, yes. I heard all kinds of things from Kana yesterday)
(I guess so. Last night, Saki and I suddenly got a call, and She told us all sorts of things. But I told Kana to wait a little longer. It goes without saying that Saki and I want peace if possible, and we listened to Kana’s feelings, so we decided to think about what to do as a group of three from now on.)
So they talked about it right after that… They’re really quick to act.
Even so, if Miku and Saki have made that decision, then it must be the right thing to do. I’m sure Kana agrees with them.
Actually, I can’t really see a future where Nanashima will agree with them, but if things can proceed peacefully, then that’s the best outcome. Well, it’s only natural that the three of them know Nanashima better than I do, so in the end, it’s best to leave that decision up to them.
(And if you’re asking if I’m okay with it, then yes, I am. My friendships are my business. Even if Tsubasa sticks his nose in, I don’t care. I can understand Kana because she’s his sister-in-law, but I’m not. Tsubasa tends to make assumptions, so it’s even more so in his case.)
(I see… As long as Suzukaze is okay, that’s fine.)
(The more we talk, the more you seem normal… No, not normal, but kind. It’s completely different from my first impression of you.)
(I don’t think so.)
(I think so. It was the same with me, and it’s the same with Kana. You pay attention to even the smallest details. You don’t have any connection with Tsubasa, so I don’t think a normal person would care that much.)
(If that’s the case, Suzukaze has changed a lot too. At first, she had a colder look in her eyes, but now her expression is softer and she seems happier than before.)
(I seem happy… Maybe that’s true. Since talking with you, my way of thinking has changed a little and I definitely feel more at ease.)
Miku smiled softly as she wrote this.
Miku never used to smile at all, but now she does. This alone proves that Miku has changed, and above all, Miku looks good when she smiles.
I still think it was worth it to tell Miku clearly, even though I expected to be scolded at the time.
(That’s good.)
(Still, you really are close to Kana, aren’t you…)
(Maybe…)
(You’re not denying it?)
Miku suddenly said that to me, but there was no way I could deny it.
If there is anyone in my position who thinks that Kana isn’t close to me, then that person is more than just insensitive.
(I don’t think so.)
(Well, that’s good then.)
(What’s good?)
(Nothing. Let’s get back to studying.)
(You’re right.)
And so, Miku and I returned to our respective studies.
