I, Who Was Reincarnated as an Evil Character With Cheat-Level Stats in an Eroge, Will Live Freely in This Life
“Whoa… Seriously…”
Early Tuesday morning. I woke up early as usual to go running, but today I felt something off with my body, so I checked my temperature before heading out.
I’d felt a bit feverish since last night, and now the thermometer read 38.0 degrees. Not exactly high, but definitely a decent fever.
I wasn’t coughing much, just feeling a bit foggy-headed.
It feels weird to say this about myself, but my body’s pretty tough. I’ve always been good at managing my health, even in my past life, so I never got sick that often. I never expected something like this to happen.
Well, if I had to pinpoint something, it might be that I was sleep-deprived the other day… So even Kisaragi Seito’s body can get sick… I thought about such obvious things.
It doesn’t feel that bad physically, but I should probably skip school today anyway.
“I’ll call the school in a bit.”
I can’t exactly call this early, so I’ll contact them around the time I usually head to school.

――So, after all that, it was a good time, and I finished calling school to report my absence.
“Alright… Next, I need to tell Kana, Miku, and Saki too.”
If it were a normal day, the three of them would be arriving at school around now, and I can’t just skip without saying anything.
I know it’ll cause them unnecessary worry, but I should tell them properly.
With that thought, I grabbed my phone and sent a message to the group chat.
‘Seems like I’ve gotten a bit sick, so I’m taking the day off school. No need to worry, though.’
Almost instantly, three read receipts appeared and replies came in.
‘Huh!? Are you okay!?’
‘It’s rare for you to be sick, Seito. Are you alright?’
“Don’t push yourself too hard, Seito-kun.”
“Huh!? When did you two start calling each other by first names… but more importantly… no, that’s not what I meant at all, but seriously, please don’t push yourself too hard, Seito-senpai!!!”
It wasn’t like we were talking on the phone; it was just a message exchange. Still, I could easily picture Kana’s flustered face. She really didn’t need to worry that much; I was totally fine.
Come to think of it, yesterday Kana and I went home together, and I didn’t mention anything about Miku and Saki.
Actually, I just realized—I still haven’t clearly told Kana what I want with Miku and Saki. I’ll make sure to put that into words once my fever breaks.
I mean, the way things went, or the vibe, Kana probably already gets how I feel about them.
Well, anyway, I need to reply now.
“It’s fine. It’s not like the fever’s that high, and I think it’ll clear up in a day or two.”
“Really? How high was it?”
“When I checked earlier, it was 38 degrees. So it’s not that high.”
“Really? I think 38°C is pretty high…”
“I think so too?”
“Well, whether it’s high or not aside, you need to rest, okay?”
“Exactly! And whatever you do, don’t exercise just because you do it every day! No running, no weight training!!”
That’s absolutely right. All I can do now is rest and let the fever break.
“I am resting, so don’t worry.”
“Really? The three of us will come right after school, so please wait for us, okay?”
“I might be contagious, so it’s fine if you don’t come. Actually, you shouldn’t just bring Miku and Saki along without asking! I appreciate your concern, but…”
“It’s fine if you bring me and Saki along, right?”
“That’s right, Seito-kun. You can’t even go shopping alone, can you?”
“I knew you’d say that, Miku-nee and Saki-nee!! Got it? Seito-senpai! Rest quietly until we get there! We’ll bring food and drinks!”
They say that, and honestly, it’s a huge help to me.
Well, they all know I don’t have family, so I guess they’re worried about that too.
It’s nice they’re concerned enough to come, so I guess I’ll take them up on their offer.
“Thanks. I guess I’ll let you do that then.”
“Yes! Please do! The teacher’s here, so I’ll put my phone away!”
“Thanks.”
“Our teacher’s about to arrive too, so we won’t be able to contact you, but if you want anything to eat, just let us know? We’ll check during lunch break or after school.”
“And if you get sleepy, it’s totally fine to just sleep, okay?”
“Thanks for everything. If I’m asleep, Kana has the key, so feel free to come in. I don’t have anything specific I want to eat, but something easy to eat would be nice.”
“Got it. Okay, then I’ll go buy some udon or jelly.”
“See you after school then.”
“Ah, thanks.”
And so, I finished talking with the three of them.
“I’m really grateful…”
Their kindness really comes through, and I’m genuinely glad we became such good friends. It made me realize again how nice it is to be worried about like this.
Honestly, I can’t even imagine thinking like I did right after reincarnating—that being alone was fine. Well, maybe it’s because it’s Kana, Miku, and Saki that I feel this way.
Also, Miku and Saki know I gave Kana a spare key, but of course, I haven’t given them keys.
To be honest though, I trust them just as much as Kana, so I could give them keys too… but that’ll have to wait.
“Anyway, I’m pretty sweaty. I think I’ll change and get some sleep…”
It might be a bit of a problem since I’m home sick with a fever, but it’s true I’ve been a bit sleep-deprived lately…
So, after changing, I went back to bed, intending to just nap for a little while.
