I Kept Silently Supporting the Lowest-Ranked Idol in the Popularity Rankings, Before I Knew It, I Was in a Shuraba
Lunch break is usually spent with me, Hamada, and Momoi-san around the desk, which has been our routine since we entered the second grade.
But today was apparently different.
“Do you mind if I join you?”
“S-Shimizu san!?”
Hamada was apparently quite surprised by Shimizu-san’s behavior.
That’s probably true. Just a few minutes ago, many people had invited her to have lunch
“Hamada-kun? Do you mind?”
“N-no. Of course. Right, Akito, Momoi-san?”
“Of course I’m fine.”
“I’m… well, okay. As long as you don’t do anything.”
Momoi-san seems to be suspecting something about her after all. At the moment, she can’t show any kind of understanding
Personally, I’d like them to get to know each other better.
In fact, this morning, Shimizu-san offered to have lunch with me beforehand. Of course, I immediately said yes.
I knew that I would need her presence in order to make my school life more enjoyable and lively.
Needless to say, I also have an ulterior motive for wanting to get along with her. Oh, I don’t mean to be mean.
“Well then, I’ll take your word for it”
Shimizu-san brought her own chair and opened her lunch box.
“Wow, it looks delicious, Shimizu san!”
“Is it? Hamada-san’s lunch box also looks very delicious. Is your mother making it?”
“Yes. My mother’s cooking is superb.”
“I understand. I know, because my mother cooks for me, too.”
Yeah, I think you and Hamada have already gotten along quite well, haven’t you? Apart from the friendship between these four, let’s also support Hamada’s love life as much as we can.
“Who is making Sakurai-san’s lunch?”
“Hm? Oh…”
After school, I was summoned to an empty classroom by someone.
“What’s wrong? What’s the matter, why did you suddenly call me alone?”
It was Momoi-san who called me out. I was just about to go home as usual when suddenly I received a line telling me to come to this classroom.
“What do you think about that person?”
“Who’s that person?”
I wonder who she is talking about.
“I’m talking about Shimizu Riho. What did she mean during lunch break today?”
“What does she mean…Shimizu-san said she wanted to eat with us, so the four of us just ate together, right?”
“That’s not what I meant!”
Apparently, Momoi-san is angry…but I have no idea what she is angry about.
Shimizu-san was very nice to me, and if I recall the lunch break, I don’t think there was anything particularly strange about it.
It was a very meaningful time, and I was thinking that if it was possible, the four of us might get together tomorrow.
“Shimizu Riho, she obviously had her eyes on you!”
“…? No, that’s because when you talk, you look at the person you’re talking to.”
“─ Ha, I’ve felt it since we first met, Akito is really insensitive, isn’t he?”
“insensitive”? What is it ?
“Well, that reaction doesn’t sound like the worst I had in mind. You should be careful with her.”
“why?”
“Akito wouldn’t understand, but she was looking at you like you were prey.”
Prey? Is that the look that girls often give to their target boys in manga and novels?
If so, then Momoi-san must be mistaken. I have only just met her, and we have never talked together except for yesterday after school.
To begin with, I’ve told you many times that I’m a shady person. Who would like to be a shady person like me? No, no one likes me.
This conclusion is an unchangeable fact that has become clear over the years.
When I was in junior high school, there were a few girls who were obviously nice only to me, but I have seen all of them flirting with their boyfriends
“But you know what? I have a way to mitigate those stares.”
“I’ll ask you in case you’re interested.”
“You can call me Nagisa.”
