The S**ttiest Gyaru in the Class Confessed to Me

The day of the trip.

I met with Ichika at the station.

I was five minutes late, but Ichika was already waiting for me. Ichika is almost always late, but now she was there before the appointed time…

Does that mean she was looking forward to it that much? I was a little moved.

“Sorry, did you wait?”

“No, I was so excited that I got here early. Let’s go already♡”

My girlfriend is so genuinely happy.

Maybe it’s because I was with the money-grubbing Aisha yesterday, but she looks like an angel to me.

Ichika is dressed a little differently today, wearing a black cropped hoodie and a checkered skirt. It’s long-sleeved, but her exposed shoulders are adorned with ribbons tied in a bow.

It’s more of a ‘landmine’ style than a ‘gal’ style.

“Your outfit is different from usual, isn’t it?”

“I thought you might like this, Sou kun.”

Saying that, Ichika took my hand.

(We’re getting a little closer, aren’t we?)

I thought as I looked at our intertwined hands.

At the station window, we bought a ‘Youth Ticket.’

This ticket allows unlimited rides on local trains for three days. It doesn’t work on the Shinkansen, but it’s perfect for our trip.

When I handed her the ticket, Ichika broke into a wide smile.

From here, we’ll go to Atami and transfer to the Izukyu Line. Our destination is Shimoda Station.

Ichika and I sat side by side on the train.

Suddenly, even the usual train felt special.

As the train swayed along the Tokaido Line, the industrial landscape began to be interspersed with historic stone buildings. The train stopped at a large station. Many people were getting on and off.

It was Yokohama Station.

Ichika gazed out the window like a child.

“Hey, Sou kun. Let’s come to Yokohama on a date sometime. I wanna try some meat buns.”

I wonder if she associates Yokohama with meat buns, but I’m glad she’s interested in going out.

As we entered the Shonan area, the sea occasionally came into view. After a while, the scenery suddenly opened up, and we could see the vast ocean.

It seems the sea had gotten so close without us noticing. The station platform was labeled ‘Kofu-tsu Station.’

“Sou kun. The sea ! ! Wow.”

“We’re not even halfway there yet, and you’re already getting so excited.”

Then, Ichika made a slightly embarrassed face. Seeing that childlike expression, I felt really happy too.

Soon, the train stopped at Nebukawa Station.

“Hey, Sou kun ! There’s no one at this station !”

Nebukawa Station is a scenic station where you can see the sea from the platform, but it is especially famous for its spectacular view from the ticket gate.

“Let’s get off.”

“Okay♡”

It’s just a regular train trip.

A little detour should be allowed.

Nebukawa Station is an unmanned station with a sky-blue station building.

We walked along the platform overlooking the horizon and crossed the old overpass. Seagulls were flapping their wings vigorously against the sea breeze in the coastal sky.

When we exited the ticket gate, there was someone taking photos outside the station.

Ichika offered to take a photo with me, but the stunning view wouldn’t fit in the frame if we took a selfie.

“Oh, I brought this.”

When I proudly took out my selfie stick, for some reason, Ichika laughed.

“It’s been a while since I’ve seen someone with one of those.”

Really?

I bought it especially for this trip…

“But thank you♡”

Saying that, Ichiika hugged my left arm.

Ichika showed me the screen of her smartphone.

Sagami Bay was clearly visible, and both of us were smiling.

“By the way, Ichika, there was a sign saying ‘No Photography’ at the end of the platform. I wonder why.”

It was a bit surprising that photography was prohibited at such a scenic station. Ichika also tilted her head in confusion.

Then, an elderly tourist who was taking photos spoke to us.

“This place has a lot of history. Since you have time until the next train, why don’t you go to the pond next to the station?”

When we went to the pond, there was a memorial with an explanation that this station was damaged in the Great Kanto Earthquake. Apparently, a large landslide occurred due to the aftershocks, and one of the platforms was washed away into the sea.

The flowers were still fresh.

“Hey, Sou kun. Wanna check out the sea too?”

“Sure.”

When we reached the coast, there was a sign explaining the location of the landslide damage. Apparently, the former platform was where the sea now was.

As we walked along the sandy beach, there was a path leading out to sea. Standing at the water’s edge, Ichika and I looked out at the sea.

(This was supposed to be a romantic seaside date with a great view, but it turned out to be a bit somber.)

Ichika and I made eye contact.

Perhaps it was the sea breeze, but Ika’s eyes seemed to be moist.

Ichika gripped my hand tightly.

“Even if the world were to end, I wanna be with Sou kun.”

“That sounds like a proposal.”

Ichika blushed bright red and fanned herself with her small hands.

“I dunno. I just felt that way.”

Perhaps it was the breathtaking scenery.

Traveling seems to make it easier to say even the most ordinary things.
