When I Go Back in Time, My Ex-wife Is Making a Passionate Approach to Me, and I’m Having Trouble With It
A few days passed and I finished a short story for the club magazine.
Once I started writing it down, it was done in a matter of minutes and without any difficulty.
All that remained was to hire a contractor to bind the book.
“Please leave the rest to me.”
Tachibana said proudly. We had done all we could do.
“I wonder if it will sell.”
“Every year, the literary club’s magazine sells well, so I think we can count on that.”
If Tachibana says so, there must be no mistake. My novels will be read by people. It’s hard to describe the elation I feel when people read my novels.
“Since we’re here, why don’t we go to a launch party?”
Tachibana suggested.
“But the festival is still a long way off.”
“But we can celebrate the completion of the manuscript.”
It’s true, this is the first time I’ve completed a manuscript. It’s not bad to let loose.
“Shall we go?”
“It’s decided. You’re coming too, right, Kurosaki senpai?”
“Of course.”
So we headed to a nearby karaoke bar. Karaoke has food and is easy on a high school student’s wallet. I don’t have a part-time job, and neither do Haruka and Tachibana, so we can’t waste money.
“Karaoke, huh? I wonder how long it’s been since I’ve done that.”
I have been to karaoke with Haruka. I’ve only been out a few times, so it’s been a long time. I remember that Haruka was not a good singer. She was so off pitch it was amusing, and when I laughed at her, she would get angry. Well, I am not a good enough singer to tell anyone.
After entering the karaoke bar, we checked in and moved to our room. Before entering the room, I poured myself a glass of juice from the drink bar and entered the room.
“Now, let’s get right to singing.”
Tachibana leads the way and hands Haruka a bottle of Denmoku.
“I’ll tell you something first. I’m not a good singer. I hope you won’t laugh at me.”
“You know what? Karaoke is a place to enjoy singing. It doesn’t matter if you are a good singer or not.”
“I’m glad to hear you say that.”
Haruka let out a sigh of relief. It was surprising that Haruka, a beautiful girl who seemed capable of anything, was bad at singing, and I thought it was cute at the time. I was thrilled by how cute Haruka was as she sang with all her might.
Haruka operated the demo and started the song. The intro starts playing and a message appears on the screen.
Haruka picks up the microphone and begins to sing. As usual, she is exquisitely out of tune, but her expression is soft. I watch her with a sense of nostalgia. At first she seemed nervous, but as Tachibana clapped her hands to get her going, Haruka gradually began to get into the groove. After singing one song, Haruka put down the microphone with a satisfied look.
“Isn’t it good, Kurosaki-senpai? Yes, it is. That playful attitude is very important in karaoke.”
“Thanks to you, Tachibana-san. Thanks for making it so much fun.”
“No problem. This is my role.”
It’s been a long time since I last went to karaoke with Haruka, so I’m feeling a wave of nostalgia. The way Haruka sings shyly is just like back then. That’s right. I really liked Haruka back then. It was really the little things that attracted me to her.
“Now, it’s senpai’s turn.”
Saying that, Tachibana offers me a Denmoku. I selected a song at random and picked up the microphone.
When I sang, Tachibana clapped her hands to get me going. Haruka was surprised. Haruka, too, was shy, but she clapped her hands and joined in to get the crowd going. I had never seen Haruka enjoying karaoke so much. I decided to join in the fun. When I sang the song in a bubbly, bubbly way, the two of them clapped for me.
“I like it. You are a good singer, aren’t you?”
“I don’t know if I’m this good at it.”
“Shinohara-kun’s voice is so good-looking, isn’t it?”
Haruka muttered in a whisper. I don’t have a good-looking voice. But it sounds good to Haruka now.
“I’m going to sing next.”
Tachibana picked up the microphone and stepped on it as the song started to play. Tachibana’s singing was dynamic. She was not a good singer, but she had a refreshing singing voice. She sang so pleasantly that it made me feel good to listen to her. While Tachibana was singing, a waiter came in. The waiter brought the food she had ordered. However, Tachibana did not interrupt her singing, but sang enthusiastically. After the waiter left, Tachibana finished singing and put down the microphone with satisfaction.
“Amazing. You didn’t even notice the store clerk coming.”
“I don’t care about that. I don’t want to be disturbed because I am singing comfortably.”
“That’s great. If it were me, I would definitely stop singing.”
The way Tachibana sang was so dynamic that Haruka and I were praising her.
“Since we’ve come all the way here to get pizza, shall we eat some?”
The three of us cut up the pizza and picked it up.
“Shinohara-senpai, I was surprised at how good-looking you are.”
“I’m not a good-looking guy, am I?”
“I guess you don’t really understand it yourself. Kurosaki-senpai was listening intently.”
“Wait a minute, Tachibana-san.”
Haruka’s face turned bright red and she looked down.
She didn’t think she had a great voice, but if the two girls said so, then maybe it was.
“But just looking at Tachibana, I think I can see that it’s possible to enjoy singing even if you’re not good at it.”
“I am not a good singer myself. Karaoke is a stress reliever. You can sing as you like.”
“When I look at Tachibana, I feel like my worries are ridiculous.”
“Are you worried about something, senpai?”
I have a problem. What should I do about my relationship with Haruka? For some reason, Haruka likes me. But I don’t have the courage to start over. I can’t take the first step because I’m afraid I might fail again.
“I’ll talk to you again.”
Right now Haruka is by my side so I can’t talk to her about it. I’ll talk to her about it when I can no longer handle it myself.
