When I Go Back in Time, My Ex-wife Is Making a Passionate Approach to Me, and I’m Having Trouble With It
The next day, I woke up in the morning to find Kyoka’s face in front of me.
“Good morning, Ryo.”
Kyoka giggled and pecked me on the cheek.
“What are you doing here?”
“Long time no see, childhood friend sleeping and waking up event?”
Indeed, Kyoka used to come to my house to wake me up. I’ve been estranged from her since I rejected her confession, but I never thought she would come back to wake me up again. My mother also welcomes Kyoka to wake me up. So Kyoka would come into my house without hesitation.
“I’m waking you up, so stop peeking into my face.”
“You’re so cute.”
Kyoka giggles and stops looking into my face. I sit up and stretch.
“I knew that men pitch their tents in the morning.”
Kyoka looked at my crotch and said
“You should be a little ashamed of yourself.”
“At my age, I have nothing to be ashamed of.”
If the time leap is indeed real, Kyouka’s mental age is 30. That makes her an adult no matter how you look at it.
“By the way, I heard that Ryo has joined a club.”
“Yeah, the literary club.”
“You used to go home.”
“I figured since I’m getting a fresh start, I might as well do something I haven’t done before.”
“If you’re going to use that logic, wouldn’t it be a better deal if you went out with me?”
That is certainly one way to look at it. But it is still too early to make a conclusion. Haruka is still nestled in my heart.
“Maybe I’ll join you, too.”
“Are you serious?”
The Literature Club has few members, so Tachibana would be happy if Kyouka joined.
“But can you write a novel?”
“I’ve never written one, but Ryo will teach me step by step.”
“I’m a beginner myself.”
“Then that means even I can do it.”
Admittedly, I had never written a novel before either, so even if Kyouka wanted to start, I had no right to stop her.
And the literature club is not only about writing, but also about reading. Even if you can’t write, you can read.
“Is that woman in the Literature Club?”
“You mean Haruka?
Yes, she’s there. Just don’t get into trouble with her.”
“Hmmm. I’m not going to cause any trouble for Ryo, so don’t worry.”
Is it really okay to introduce Haruka and Kyoka together? Even though I had rejected Kyoka once, she still wanted me. We’re both people who’d failed in our marriages, so maybe we can get along. In that sense, I feel like choosing Kyoka this time is the best choice.
“I mean, do you still love me?”
“Well,
I don’t know. I guess I’m still your best friend.”
That’s true. It’s been fifteen years since Kyoka fell in love with me. They say a woman’s love overwrites her feelings, so it’s not strange that she lost interest in me. But maybe this will turn out better than a love marriage. We’ll support each other as life partners. I can easily imagine how I could get along with Kyoka. We’ve been together for a long time. We know each other well. Married life might work out better that way.
“But you are the person I have fallen in love with the most in my life. There is no doubt about that. So I wouldn’t be surprised if I fall in love again. To be honest, I am excited. I can fall in love with Ryo again.”
Kyoka looked straight at me and smiled wryly.
“I wonder why we went back in time.”
“I mean, how could it be anything other than us being perfect for each other?
We are bound by fate, you know. How is that possible? There are so many people in this world, and out of all of them, you and I would time leap.”
That is certainly one way to think of it. If Haruka had time leaped. I am sure Haruka would not be here today. Haruka would have hated me. That’s why she didn’t time leap. If that is the case, I feel that I should have chosen Kyoka.
“It’s certainly fateful, isn’t it?”
“Right?
We are perfect for each other.”
Kyoka looked at me with a smug look on her face.
I think back on it, Kyoka understands me very well.
I’m sure we’re destined to be together again.
“I’ll think about it.”
“Do that.”
I lower my body from the bed and stand up. I stretched and sat up.
On days when Kyoka comes to wake me up, we have breakfast together. I change into my school uniform in front of Kyoka and go downstairs.
When I enter the living room, my mother looks at us and narrows her eyes.
“Kyoka chan, you’re going to eat, aren’t you?”
“Thank you, Auntie.
Itadakimasu”
My mother and Kyoka are good friends. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen them get excited talking about me.
Kyoka sits down next to me and puts her hands together.
Kyoka and I eat breakfast side by side.
“I haven’t seen you at our house lately,”
Her mother tilted her head.
“I had a bit of a fight with Ryo. but we’ve made up.”
“That’s good. It wouldn’t be as exciting without Kyouka-chan.”
In the past, she used to come to my house almost every day. I had gotten used to not seeing Kyoka in my daily life, so I missed this feeling.
“From now on, I’ll come every day.”
“Every day?”
“You miss it, don’t you?”
Kyoka smiled at me and ate a bowl of rice.
