When I Go Back in Time, My Ex-wife Is Making a Passionate Approach to Me, and I’m Having Trouble With It

After school, Haruka and I headed to the literature club room and greeted Tachibana and Kyoka, who had already started working.

“Good morning.”

“Good morning, seniors.”

I took my seat and turned on my computer. I plugged in the USB stick Haruka gave me and opened the manuscript.

To be honest, I have low expectations for Haruka’s novel. I’ve seen it for years. Haruka’s novels are stable. But that’s all. If you ask me if I find her novels attractive, I will shake my head.

Haruka is glancing at me. She is probably curious about my reaction.

I read Haruka’s manuscript. And then, I’m struck by a surprise.

“This is …….”

“What’s wrong, senpai?”

Tachibana peeked at me from the seat next to her.

“Haruka, did you write this?”

“Yes, I did.”

Haruka nodded nervously.

“It was fun. I was so overwhelmed I barely had time to breathe.”

“Really?!”

Haruka leaned forward. I nodded, unable to contain my excitement.

“First of all, the writing was different. It was not the usual steady writing. It was rough, but it was the kind of writing that drew me in.”

“I’ve been thinking that I needed to come out of my shell, too. So this time, I decided to throw away everything I had done up to this point. I took the plunge and wrote sentences that made me feel good about myself.”

“That’s what came through so well. The story was interesting, and it was the best I’ve ever written.”

When I say it was the best thing she ever wrote, I’m including the novel Haruka had written in the future.

“I’m happy”

Haruka held her mouth and shed tears. My words meant so much to Haruka.

I was speechless with surprise at Haruka’s reaction. I didn’t expect her to be so obsessed with my evaluation.

“Hey, you’re overreacting.”

“Because …….”

I offered Haruka a handkerchief, which she accepted and wiped away her tears.

“May I read it too?”

“Sure.”

Tachibana sat down in front of my computer and started reading the manuscript.

Tachibana let out a small breath and looked at me after she finished reading the manuscript.

“This novel is amazing, isn’t it? It really draws you in.”

“Right?”

“It’s frustrating. I thought I was the only one who could make Senpai’s eyes light up.”

Tachibana smiled and looked at Haruka.

“You’ve grasped something, Kurosaki-senpai. I can’t lose to you.”

“I don’t want to lose to you either.”

Haruka and Tachibana exchange glances.

“It is a match to see which one of us will make senpai a true fan.”

“I won’t give up Ryo to you.”

I’m happy to be a motivation for both of you. But I give an honest assessment of the work. So I don’t hold back because of which one it is.

I just want to read interesting novels.

“You two are good, you have something to attract Ryo’s attention.”

Kyoka laughed awkwardly.

“Kyoka might be able to write an interesting novel if she keeps on writing.”

“I’m not that presumptuous. I know I have no talent.”

“I haven’t read any of your novels yet.”

“I can’t write long stories. I can write short stories. But long stories are too hard to write.”

“Senpai, writing a full-length novel is a skill. Anyone can write one once they have mastered the technique.”

“That’s not the point. I just don’t have the patience. I get bored of writing very quickly.”

That’s right. Anyone can write a novel, but not everyone can write a novel. It depends on one’s personality. Writing a full-length novel requires perseverance. If you don’t have the perseverance, you can’t write a novel.

“I’ll be on the reading side. I’ve learned that I can’t write. It was a good experience.”

“I guess that’s one choice.”

The literature club is not just a place for people who write novels. There are also people who read novels.

Kyoka chose the latter.

“Let me read Ryo’s novel, too. I want to read it.”

“Is mine okay?”

“I’d rather read it because it’s Ryo’s.
Let me read it, okay?”

“Okay. I’ll definitely let you read it if I can.”

It’s a blessing to have someone read my novels. If Kyouka can do that for me, it will motivate me too.

“Why don’t you let me read it?”

Haruka’s cheeks puffed out.

“Of course, I want you to read it.”

“But I’m the first one to read it.”

Kyoka would not budge on that point.

“I understand. I don’t care what number. I’ll definitely read Ryo’s novel.”

“Let me read Haruka’s novel, too.”

“This is a short story, but I’ll write a full-length one next time. so take your time and enjoy it.”

Haruka’s novel made me want to read the next one.

I have not felt this way since I read Tachibana’s novel.

I didn’t think that Haruka’s novel would make me feel this way.

“Come on, let’s get started with today’s club activities.”

“Right.”

Tachibana calls out and everyone takes their seats. Kyoka selects a paperback book from the bookshelf and begins to read.

I started to write the rest of my novel. I can’t lose to Haruka and Tachibana. I want to be a professional too. I have to write interesting novels.

I have to compete with those two. Thinking about it like that motivates me.

All I can do now is use that as fuel and do my best. I want to write a novel that Kyoka and Haruka will say is interesting. That’s my current goal.
