When I Go Back in Time, My Ex-wife Is Making a Passionate Approach to Me, and I’m Having Trouble With It
I will follow Haruka’s advice and write my own sentences now. It was excruciating to be told that I don’t understand punctuation, but I’m sure I can handle those basics if I learn them well.
I continue writing for the next few hours. The chime of noon rings, and I stop typing.
“It’s already noon. What are we going to do for lunch?”
“Well. I’d like to go out and look around”
“Then, let’s all go for a walk together!”
Tachibana gave the order and we left the ryokan. After passing through the hot spring resort area, we entered an area lined with restaurants.
“I want something easy to eat.”
“Then, why don’t we try soba noodles?”
We found a soba restaurant just in front of us. We went under the curtain of the soba restaurant and entered.
“Welcome, three of you. Please come in.”
Since the ryokan was fully booked, there were probably not many tourists there now. The restaurant was empty.
“Do you want cold or hot soba?”
Haruka asked Tachibana and me, holding out the menu.
“I think I’ll have the hot one. I think I’ll have the hot soba noodles with nameko mushrooms and grated radish.”
“I’ll have the cold one. I’ll have the tenzaru soba.”
“Then, I’ll order the same thing as Shinohara-kun.”
Haruka said so and called the waiter. After ordering for the three of us, she turned to me.
“Shinohara-kun, do you like hot soba noodles?”
“Well. I also like nameko mushrooms.”
“I know.”
Haruka was in a good mood and was smiling. I put aside the question of how she knew my food preferences and sighed.
“I’ll give you a prediction. Shinohara-kun will put a lot of pepper on his food.”
“Well, that’s true.”
If you think about it for a moment, you’ll be right even if you don’t guess.
“I won’t be putting it on, though.”
“That’s true. Kurosaki-san doesn’t like numbness.”
“You know exactly what I mean.”
In the past, I unintentionally sprinkled Japanese pepper on the food I served to Haruka, which made her angry. Haruka and I have very different tastes in food. That’s probably one of the reasons why our marriage didn’t work out.
While we were having such a conversation, the soba noodles arrived. I sprinkled sansho on the steaming soba and picked up my chopsticks.
“Itadakimasu.”
I sipped the soba. The broth had a unique taste, and the flavor of sansho spread in my mouth and up my nose. The nameko mushrooms were huge, and I knew that they were made of good food. The soba noodles were thirst-quenching and firm in texture.
“It’s good.”
“Yes, it’s delicious.”
Haruka and I were eating the same thing. Eating the same food at the table reminded me of when we were married.
“Shinohara-kun’s choice is perfect.”
“No, it’s not.”
“That’s true. This is a flavor that girls like too, so I think you should be confident.”
That said, I just chose what I wanted to eat, and Haruka just went along with it on her own.
“Kurosaki-san, you should have eaten whatever you wanted too.”
“I wanted to have matching ones with Shinohara-kun.”
Again, she expresses her affection for me in a straightforward manner. I have honestly never seen Haruka like this before. In high school, college, and even after we got married, Haruka never showed her affection for me in a straightforward manner. So our physical relationship naturally decreased, and we never had children.
I still haven’t solved the mystery of why Haruka is showing interest in me in this way. I can only assume that I did something to her after my time leap.
I have no idea at all at this point. I was unable to bring out Haruka’s honesty in our 15-year relationship, but after the time leap, she is showing me so much affection. Women are unknowable.
After finishing the soba noodles and drinking up the broth, I let out a sigh of relief.
“It was delicious. Now I can work hard this afternoon.”
“I guess so. Let’s take a little stroll and get back to writing.”
After paying the bill, I walked out of the restaurant. After passing through an area lined with restaurants, I saw a bridge. Surrounded by mountains, the area is rich in nature.
“We can get off here,”
Tachibana led the way down to the bottom of the bridge. Haruka and I followed her and went down. The river was calm and we could see fish swimming in the river. Haruka took off her socks and dipped her feet in the river water.
“It’s cold! Shinohara-kun, why don’t you get in too?”
Haruka was so excited like a child that I couldn’t help but smile. I followed Haruka’s lead and took off my socks and dipped my feet in the water.
“It feels so good.”
“Yes!”
“It’s cold!”
Haruka scoops up a handful of river water and splashes it on me.
I remember when we used to go to the beach and splash each other with water like this. I was a college student at the time and we had just started dating. That may have been the last time we innocently played with each other.
“You’re prepared to get hit if you do this, right?”
I scooped up some water with my hand and poured it over Haruka.
“Kyaa! It’s cold!”
Haruka covered her face with her hand and blocked the water from flying at her. It reminded me a little of when we used to be good friends. We used to splash water on each other and have fun. When did we forget our innocence?
“I don’t want to get my yukata wet if I do too much, so let’s just call it a day, shall we?”
Haruka said and poured water on me at the end.
“It’s not fair for just the two of you to be flirting with each other.”
Tachibana’s lips were pouting as if she wanted to do it too.
“I’m done. And I’m not flirting”
“That’s what couples do, you know.”
“I don’t know.”
We then enjoyed the coolness of the river for a while.
