The Gal Next to Me Is Trying Too Hard to Make Me Fall in Love With Her
“Saeki! I love you!”
After school.
Amagi-san came to pick me up with the force of a storm. By the third time, I was too tired to be surprised, and I gasped for breath with embarrassment.
“Can you do something about the way you show up…?”
“Why? Aren’t you happy when someone says they love you?”
“If I said I wasn’t happy, that would be a lie…”
“Right?! This is all part of my plan to make you fall for me! So, Saeki!”
“Y-yes?”
“I love you~~~~~♡♡♡”
I dodged Amagi-san, who had jumped at me with a kiss on her lips, and headed straight for the front door. Soon she caught up with me, and we walked home together.
“Hey, Saeki.”
“Yes?”
“Want to hold hands?”
“What are you talking about all of a sudden!? I’ve told you many times that impure relationships with the opposite sex are not allowed!”
“Well, let’s say I hurt my foot and can’t walk without someone’s help. If I hold hands with Saeki, would that be considered an impure relationship with the opposite sex?”
“Um… In that case… I guess not…”
“Aaah! I twisted my ankle! I can’t walk!”
“Stop acting like an idiot!”
Suddenly stopping in her tracks, Amagi started wailing with a fake crying face.
Ignore her, ignore her.
If I keep going along with this act, there’ll be no end to it.
If I go ahead, she’ll probably come running after me anyway.
“…”
I walk for about ten seconds.
There’s no sign of her coming after me.
“…”
I walk for another ten seconds.
There are no footsteps, so I turn around.
Amagi-san is far behind.
She’s looking at me with eyes like an abandoned puppy.
“Oh, come on! You know I’m weak for that kind of face, don’t you?”
“Wow♡! You came back♡!”
“It’s not ‘wow’! Stop it, you’re making me feel guilty!”
“Hehe! Sorry!”
While saying that, she casually touched my hand.
Her small, fragile, sweaty palm.
She gripped my hand tightly and gently squeezed it, as if to express her joy.
“We’re holding hands, aren’t we? Is that okay?”
“…Since it’s just you holding my hand, I don’t think it counts as holding hands…”
“Isn’t that just a clever excuse?”
“T-Then let go of my hand!”
She gripped my hand even tighter and pulled me closer.
Amagi stood on her tiptoes.
Something soft and damp touched my ear. Then I was hit by a warm breath, and a sweet sensation ran down my spine.
“… no♡”
She whispered seductively, then smiled mischievously at me.
Her smile, fueled solely by affection, made my face flush.
“It’s hot, isn’t it? Let’s buy some ice cream at the convenience store on the way home!”
“Are you sure about the calories? I was trying to be careful at lunch.”
“It’s okay! I’ll eat less for dinner and move around a lot!”
We started walking, still holding hands.
Without thinking, I gripped her hand a little tighter.
She must have felt it, because she glanced at me and snorted happily.
The September sun. Glancing at our connected shadows, it looked like we were lovers, and I felt a headache from the anxiety and joy that was almost painful.
“Hey, Saeki.”
“What is it now…?”
“Thank you.”
“…Huh?”
“Thank you for yesterday and today! Thank you for loving me!”
Cicadas were chirping.
The sunlight was burning my skin.
But right now, at least for now, it didn’t feel unpleasant.
Probably because I was with Amagi-san.
She kicked a small stone at her feet.
Even watching its trajectory felt enjoyable right now.
It seems like I missuploaded the previous chapter. It has been fixed now so you can re-read it! sorry about that 🙂
