Episode 12 – Purges and Sacrifices

How I, a Hated Person, Ended Up Staying With Three Beautiful Sisters

Class 3-A is located on the top floor of the school building, at the end of the hallway.

My footsteps as I ran up the stairs were steady. In fact, I felt excited.

“Well, here we go.”

I caught my breath and then forcefully opened the door to Class 3-A.

Akane senpai was not there.

It seemed that she had kept her promise and disappeared.

Instead, Katsuyama senpai and his group were chatting in the center of the classroom.

However—the content of their laughter was the worst.

“Bitches, you know, a lot of them look like that.”

“I get it, they look tough, but in the end, they’re easy.”

“I heard she was walking around town with some old guy on the weekend. Maybe I should ask her out too?”

“She really has no eye for men. She’s switching from me to the executioner. If she’s going to date the executioner, I’m still better than him !”

Katsuyama senpai was leaning on the desk with his elbows, grinning.

It seemed he was the center of attention in Class 3-A.

I silently walked toward the group.

“…..Hey.”

At that single word, the conversation came to an abrupt halt.

Katsuyama senpai turned his face toward me with an annoyed expression, but as soon as he recognized me as the visitor, his mouth twisted into a sneer.

“Ugh…what the hell, Executioner? What does a stranger like you want? Got a complaint or something? Huh?”

He stood up provocatively, spread his arms wide, and stepped toward me.

“Hey, hey, the executioner has come to fight…! It’s a one-on-one battle with Katsuyama ! Is it a love triangle targeting Segawa san !?”

The third-year students around us began to murmur and gradually moved away from us.

The rumor must have already spread. The peaceful atmosphere of the lunch break had completely changed.

“I have no intention of fighting. Katsuyama senpai, you’re no match for me anyway. I came here today to clarify the truth behind the rumors.”

I took my smartphone out of my pocket and opened the recording app.

“Do you recognize this?”

“…No way.”

“That’s exactly it. I had a bad feeling, so I recorded the entire conversation on the rooftop that day.”

“Hey ! Wait ! Are you really gonna play that !?”

“Yes. Please listen, seniors of Class 3-A. What I’m about to play is the entire conversation between me and Katsuyama senpai on the rooftop during lunch break last Friday.”

I said that and tapped the play button.

[To begin with, what do you think of Akane senpai, Katsuyama senpai? Do you really like her? You confessed to her eight times, right?]

[Huh? Of course not. I don’t like her. I’ve never even thought about wanting to date her. I just think she’s a good playmate. Because she’s the best, right? The sense of superiority that comes from having someone like her—someone who doesn’t seem to be swayed by anyone else—trusting only me….you can’t experience that anywhere else, can you? Executioner, you understand, right?]

The conversation between me and Katsuyama senpai, recorded on the rooftop last week, echoed clearly through the classroom, shattering the silence.

“Katsuyama senpai, why did you spread those false rumors? You’ve never dated Akane senpai, right? In fact, you confessed to her eight times and were rejected every time, right? That’s how I understood it.”

As I pressed on, Katsuyama senpai’s expression changed rapidly.

“W…..what the hell is that ! You’re eavesdropping !”

Katsuyama senpai tried to grab my phone in a panic, but I stepped back to avoid him.

“Eavesdropping? What are you talking about? I just happened to open the recording app, accidentally pressed the record button, and it just happened to record Katsuyama senpai’s lies. Then, I just happened to find out your ‘true self.’”

“Damn you…! Don’t spout such nonsense !”

“I’ll give you that line right back. Admit that everything you said about Akane senpai being a slut, working at a nightclub, doing sugar daddy stuff, and dating Katsuyama senpai for half a year is all lies. Don’t try to divert the conversation…or I’ll play it again.”

I held up my phone and counted down, “Five… four…”

Just as my finger reached the play button at “one,” Kasama-senpai gasped and bowed her head.

“W-wait !”

“One second left. You’ll admit it, right?”

I smiled at Katsuyama senpai.

Then, she clenched her teeth, shook her shoulders, and opened her mouth.

“…I-I…I lied…I admit it. I’ve never dated Akane san.”

“What about the confessions?”

“Everything is true. I confessed eight times and was rejected every time.”

“So, it’s all revenge?”

“…Yes.”

Katsuyama senpai confessed everything in a style that rivaled a detective’s interrogation.

The classroom fell silent. No one could say anything.

The silence around him only highlighted his petty nature.

But I don’t think this will be enough to teach him a lesson. I might as well distribute the recording to everyone.

“Everyone in Class 3-A, please save the recording shared via Bluetooth as evidence. Make sure to burn Katsuyama-senpai’s despicable behavior into your memories.”

When I said that, the sound of smartphone notifications began to ring out from all over the classroom. Of course, Katsuyama senpai’s smartphone also rang, but he was completely frozen in shock.

“Well, that’s the end of the first story.”

Now that the data had been distributed to everyone, the punishment for Katsuyama senpai was temporarily over.

“I-is there anything else….”

One of the seniors surrounding Katsuyama senpai held his breath.

Maybe he was thinking that maybe it would be his turn next. But don’t worry. From here on out, it’s just me and Katsuyama-senpai crawling on the ground together.

“Katsuyama senpai, actually, I also have something to apologize for.”

“You…?”

He looked down in despair, but replied in a faint voice.

“Yes. I’ll apologize.”

After confirming that everyone’s gaze was focused on me, I took a breath and opened my mouth.

“I’m the bad guy everyone says I am. To be honest, I’m sure you all thought I went too far in punishing Katsuyama senpai. But that’s the kind of person I am.”

The air stirred. Everyone exchanged glances and bit their lips.

Senior Kasama looked at me in surprise. But I ignored that and continued.

“I was interested in Akane senpai. Like Katsuyama senpai, she’s the type who acts serious, but she seems easy to fall for. I was just thinking about how to seduce her.”

It was all lies. But that was fine for now.

“However, she had a stubborn personality, so I was quite troubled. So I was planning to force myself on her soon. Once I create a fait accompli, she’ll be mine.”

The classroom began to buzz again.

Someone muttered, “Hey, hey…” It was exactly what you’d call a total turn-off. Everyone had forgotten about Katsuyama senpai’s misdeeds and was now directing their contempt toward my despicable thoughts.

But I couldn’t stop. I pressed on.

“If it weren’t for you, Katsuyama senpai, Akane senpai would be mine by now. Well, thanks to you getting in the way, it’s become more difficult. If rumors like that spread, it’ll be hard for me to act. Akane senpai will be wary of me.”

I laughed self-deprecatingly.

“By the time I realized it, I had already cooled off. This is just a matter of a few days, but I’m an executioner and a rapist, right? I’m strong enough to beat up more than thirty delinquents from other schools at once, and I don’t have any intention of obsessing over one woman. So, I don’t care about Akane senpai anymore.”

I put my smartphone back in my pocket and say one last thing.

“Everyone in Class 3-A, please rest assured. Akane senpai isn’t at fault. She was just targeted by worthless people like me and Katsuyama senpai…that’s all. She’s just an unfortunate victim caught up in it. It feels wrong for someone like me to say this, but I think the people who believed the lies Katsuyama senpai spread should apologize to Akane senpai.”

Someone gasped. No one said a word. The air was completely dead.

But that was fine.

Without this, the rumors couldn’t be quelled.

Without this, Akane senpai’s reputation couldn’t be restored.

Without this, I couldn’t fulfill my responsibility.

Without this, I couldn’t convince Maho.

“Well, I’ll take my leave now.”

I bowed slightly and left the classroom.

I felt many eyes filled with fear, contempt, and hatred on my back, but I wasn’t weak enough to care about that now.

As I walked down the hallway, I thought to myself.

Now, no mud will be thrown at Akane senpai.

I took it all upon myself.

Katsuyama senpai’s actions were just revenge, and there is a man even worse than Katsuyama senpai. I poured a larger explosion onto the big fire, erasing the original rumor.

I created that scenario with my own words.

At this moment, the atmosphere of Class 3-A was decided. And it will spread.

Akane senpai is just a victim, Katsuyama senpai is a pathetic liar, and I am—an irredeemable villain.

I’m sure I’ll be hated even more by those around me from now on.

But that won’t change. That’s how I’ve lived my life. I’ve been hated by everyone because of my gaze. I’ve been subjected to baseless rumors. Nothing will change now.

That’s fine.

My reputation wasn’t worth much to begin with.

“Crap, I need to eat something or my stomach will growl during the exam.”

I muttered that under my breath and returned to my classroom.

As if nothing had happened.
