How I, a Hated Person, Ended Up Staying With Three Beautiful Sisters
The rumors spread much faster than I had imagined.
After successfully completing the midterm exams, I was on my way home.
Between passing through the school gate and reaching the nearest street,
I was repeatedly pointed at and whispered about.
I was called an executioner, a rapist, and now, the lowest of humans. I was also called an outcast. A third-year senior from Class A who happened to pass by mocked me as the leader of the scum. Incidentally, my subordinate, who is the leader, is apparently a minor scum named Katsuyama senpai.
All of these titles were arbitrarily given to me, but today, just today, I acknowledged that I am exactly that kind of person.
Therefore, no matter what anyone says, there is no reason to deny it. And there is no qualification to deny it.
“…Where should I kill time?”
As has been the case since last week, I don’t have a card key, so I have no way of entering my temporary residence.
Every time school lets out, I have to kill time somewhere before going home.
Usually, I go to the school library or wander around aimlessly, killing time.
However, I wasn’t in the mood for that today, so I walked to the square near the school.
I sat down on a bench and stared at the sky.
There was no particular meaning to it. I wasn’t thinking about anything in particular.
I just stared blankly at the movement of the clouds and passed the time.
Then, I heard someone’s footsteps approaching.
I didn’t even have to look to know who it was.
The footsteps were quiet, but hesitant, and finally, they were certain.
A moment later, Akane senpai sat down next to me.
Then, without saying a word, she leaned her head on my shoulder.
Her body was shaking violently.
Small sobs could be heard through her clothes.
She wasn’t crying out loud.
She was desperately trying to hold back her tears, but they were falling anyway.
“I found you…”
“…Akane senpai…”
I called her name softly.
But there was no response.
The silence continued for a while.
Only the sound of her sobbing reached my ears.
After a while, a hoarse voice whispered in my ear.
“…When lunch break ended and I returned to the classroom…everyone in the class suddenly became kind to me. Why do you think that is?”
It was easy to answer that question, but I looked up at the sky for a moment.
Probably about ten seconds.
I exhaled once before answering.
“I don’t know the reason, but I’m glad.”
“It stinks…since this morning, everyone has been ignoring me and giving me dirty looks…why did they suddenly change?”
“Something must have happened. Maybe Katsuyama senpai admitted to his wrongdoing. Life is unpredictable.”
“No. It’s all because of what you did. I heard about it…why, why did you do that…?”
“It’s just that I’m the bad guy everyone says I am. If Akane senpai were linked to me, you’ll be under attack too. There’s no one around, after all. It’s better not to underestimate a perverted rapist.”
“…No. You’re not that kind of person.”
Akane senpai’s voice trembled, but her denial was clear.
It’s too late now. It’s too late to trust me.
That’s why I tell her the rest.
Her denial was contradictory.
“Akane senpai. My feet are still tied up with rope at home.”
“……”
She seemed to have realized what that meant. What it signified.
“No one has untied them yet. Akane senpai unties them in the morning, but that’s only a minimal release. Even going to the bathroom or taking a shower is restricted, and getting ready in the morning is a hassle. Meals are fine, but…to put it bluntly, all two of them are looking at me that way.”
Akane senpai fell silent, as if she had lost her words.
Maho’s attitude speaks for itself, and even though Miyu has that one connection through the romance comedy, I don’t know what’s going on inside her. I don’t know anything about them, and they don’t know anything about me.
That was the truth. There was no doubt about it—that was the reason I took that action in Class 3-A.
“So, there’s no helping it. I had no choice but to do it. It was simply the best course of action. If others look at me that way, I’ll respond in kind. Because that’s the easiest way to deal with it.”
“But…but, to go that far…for someone like me…you said we were complete strangers !”
“You’re a complete stranger. That won’t change. But this incident is also my responsibility.”
I slowly stood up.
“If I had stopped Katsuyama senpai more effectively, it wouldn’t have come to this. To be honest, I think I was too indifferent when we talked on the rooftop. So, please don’t worry about it. I’m the worst kind of person, just as the rumors say. I’m a scoundrel. I’m trash. That settles it. Isn’t that right?”
Katsuyama senpai is the root of all evil.
Akane senpai knows that, which is why she tried to stop me.
But she probably also knows there’s no other choice but that one.
Akane senpai can’t live with people pointing fingers at her, but I’m different. I can handle it.
That’s the end of the story.
“I’m going out to eat before heading home today. Please let the other two know. Especially to Maho, please tell her, ‘I proved it as promised.’ See you later.”
I left the scene with quiet footsteps.
The sunset had ended, and the sky was completely dyed in the color of night.
I should have been feeling cheerful after finishing the midterm exams, but I never expected to get caught up in such a hassle.
For now, I’ll go to a cheap family restaurant, kill time at the drink bar, and then go home.
