How I, a Hated Person, Ended Up Staying With Three Beautiful Sisters
In the end, I didn’t get home until after nine o’clock at night.
When I pressed the intercom button, it was Miyu who answered.
[Okay.]
That was all she said, and the automatic lock opened.
As I walked through the entrance, got on the elevator, and arrived at my room, my heart didn’t flutter even once. Instead, my chest was filled with a sense of exhaustion, as if everything was finally over.
When I opened the front door, Miyu was standing there in the dim light.
“Welcome back.”
Her voice was calm and sleepy. This midterm exam was the first test for Miyu and the other first-year students since they entered school. She must be tired.
“I’m home. Where are the others?”
“They’re in their rooms. Akane….has been there since she got home. Maho hasn’t moved since she ate dinner.”
“I see.”
That was the end of the conversation. I headed to the living room and sat down on the sofa as usual.
I didn’t have the energy to think about anything. I just closed my eyes and waited quietly for time to pass.
But for some reason, I heard footsteps approaching from beside me.
When I looked up, Miyu was standing right next to me.
“…What’s wrong?”
When I turned my face toward her, Miyu tilted her head slightly and muttered softly.
“You’re not a bad person, are you?”
It was a soft, almost self-assuring statement.
I remained silent for a moment, then looked away.
“…Have you heard all the rumors?”
“Yeah.”
“What did you think?”
“You’re the worst. The enemy of women. The enemy of humanity.”
“Yeah, I’m the worst.”
I leaned back into the sofa and glanced sideways at Miyu. She was biting her lip with a complicated expression on her face.
“But…I don’t think Onii chan would do something like that.”
“You don’t know me that well, do you?”
“Yeah. But I just feel that way. There are no bad people who like Imokano.”
“That’s a mysterious theory. But I think so too.”
I said nothing more and stood up from the sofa.
“Are you going somewhere?”
“Sorry, but I’m a little tired. Can I take a bath?”
“Sure. Everyone else has already finished, so go ahead.”
With Miyu’s reply behind me, I headed for the bathroom.
If the three sisters don’t go in first, I can’t even take a bath. It’s cramped. But if I don’t accept that treatment, I can’t live here properly.
So even when I soak in the tub, I can’t think about anything.
No matter where I am, I can’t relax.
Especially today, the scene that’s constantly on my mind keeps lingering. The atmosphere in that classroom, Akari-senpai’s tears, Miyu’s question—it all felt like it was echoing from somewhere far away.
Tomorrow, Maho will probably say something too.
“…I might get kicked out. Maybe I’ll just live under the elevated tracks along the embankment starting tomorrow.”
I finished my bath with my heart closed, quickly dried my hair, and returned to the living room.
Miyu was already gone. It seemed like all three of them had returned to their rooms.
“I have to tie my feet…”
Since the three of them weren’t there, I tied my own feet myself. I didn’t know how to tie them, but I tied them tightly, firmly, and strongly.
I didn’t know why I was doing this, but maybe I didn’t want them to find out that my feet were untied and get angry.
“This is ridiculous, really.”
I lay down on the sofa and wrapped myself in a thin blanket.
However, I couldn’t sleep at all, so I packed my bags in anticipation of being kicked out tomorrow.
Just like when I arrived, I packed all my belongings into my backpack and handbag.
In the end, I didn’t fall asleep until after midnight.
