I, Who Was Reincarnated as an Evil Character With Cheat-Level Stats in an Eroge, Will Live Freely in This Life
“Hey, you two!”
“Sorry we got back a little late.”
While Miku and I were each studying, Kana and Saki came home.
“I bought these, so here you go, both of you.”
“Thanks, Saki, Kana.”
“Thanks for going out of your way.”
“No problem at all.”
“Yeah, yeah! It was a nice break anyway.”
“Right. Well then, let’s get back to studying.”
――After that, we all studied together.
“Ugh! I’m exhausted!!”
“Yeah. It’s getting late too, so maybe we should wrap it up?”
“Yeah, you’re right. It’s already past 7 PM, so it’s probably about time.”
“Alright then, I guess that’s it for today. Everyone was pretty focused, and we got a lot done. Plus, we have school tomorrow.”
“Yeah. It’s almost dinner time anyway, let’s head home!”
—So, Kana, Miku, and I finished getting ready to leave. After saying goodbye to Harumi-san, we were standing at the entrance.
“Well then, see you at school tomorrow, Saki!”
“See you tomorrow, Saki.”
“See ya, Hiiragi.”
“Yeah! Be careful on your way home, everyone.”
“It’s fine, it’s fine! Miku-nee and my house are super close, and besides, I’ve got Seito-senpai with us!”
My house isn’t exactly close from here, but the three of them live really close—no surprise since they’re childhood friends.
It takes less than five minutes to go between their houses. I just found out, but apparently the three of them and Nanashima met at the same kindergarten.
“That makes sense.”
“Yeah! Bye!”
“Bye!”
The three of us left the Hiiragi house like that.
“We studied a lot today, huh?”
“It’s unimaginable for the old Kana, isn’t it? Kana actually came prepared with all the parts she didn’t understand this morning.”
“Really?”
“Um, yes. I thought it would make things smoother when the three of you teach me… I am the one being taught, after all.”
“That’s admirable.”
“Ehehe, thank you.”
“You say that, but you never did anything like that in middle school, did you? Well, it is admirable, but don’t spoil her too much, okay?”
As Kana and I were saying that, Miku chimed in.
“Miku-nee is so strict…”
“That’s because of Kana’s past behavior. Back in middle school, whenever we tried to teach you, you always found some excuse to avoid it, didn’t you?”
“I’ve really reflected on that… But I swear it’ll never happen again!! Please keep teaching me, Miku-nee!!!”
To Miku, who looked slightly exasperated, Kana responded with a bright smile.
“Haa… Fine.”
“Thank you!!”
“Hahaha, no matter what you say, Suzukaze still can’t resist Kana’s smile, huh?”
“Shut up, Kisaragi…”
“That’s right! No matter what she says, Miku-nee is actually super kind!!”
Following my teasing words, Kana also teased the flustered Miku.
“Kana! Don’t get so cocky so easily!!”
“Ahaha, well, I’m at my house now, so bye-bye Miku-nee! See you tomorrow, Seito-senpai!!”
“Hey, Kana! Don’t you dare run away!”
“See ya, Kana.”
And with that, Kana slipped inside her house, practically escaping from an angry Miku.
“Seriously…”
“That’s just Kana for you.”
“True… but whatever. Let’s head home too.”
“Yeah, you’re right.”
And so, we started walking again.
“Kisaragi… thank you for today.”
Miku said this formally.
“What’s with the sudden formality?”
“You joined our study session, didn’t you… And Kisaragi, you didn’t actually learn anything from anyone, did you?”
“You were worried about that? No need to worry about it. I enjoyed teaching the three of you, so it’s fine.”
“Oh, I see… Well, that’s fine then.”
“More importantly, Miku? Why do you call me Kisaragi?”
“Wh-why? That’s because starting tomorrow…”
When I said that, Miku turned her face away and replied.
“That was only when Kana and Saki were around, right?”
“I-I know that, Seito…”
“It feels kinda fresh and nice being called by my first name by you, Miku.”
“What’s that supposed to mean…”
“Nah. Nothing. Just saying it makes me happy.”
After I said that, Mikku paused a moment before whispering softly.
“…I, I’m happy too.”
“Huh? Say that again?”
“No way.”
“Well, whatever. I heard you say you were happy too.”
“If you heard me, then why did you ask?!”
“I just kinda wanted to hear it twice.”
“Seriously… Aren’t you starting to sound a bit like Kana?”
“I don’t know about that. But Kana was right—teasing Miku really does get cute reactions.”
“C-cute… What the hell is that supposed to mean? You talked about that with Kana!?”
When I said that, Miku was clearly flustered.
Actually, this was just casual chit-chat, but I think Kana told me not to mention it to Miku… because she’d get mad at me.
“…Come to think of it, Kana did tell me not to tell Miku. Forget what I just said.”
“H-How could I forget something like that?!”
“Um, then I hope you won’t get mad at Kana…”
“I wouldn’t get mad over something like that… I don’t mind it anyway.”
“So you actually liked being teased more than I thought?!”
“Th-that’s not what I meant!! Just shut up and walk, Seito!!”
She said that, but somehow I felt like she looked a little pleased too.
“It was a joke, don’t get mad.”
“I’m not mad. Anyway, we’re at my place now. Thanks for walking me home.”
“See you at school.”
After watching Miku go inside, I started walking.
“That study session was pretty fun, huh.”
I was mostly the one teaching, but it was still enjoyable.
Kana, Miku, and Saki all seemed happy afterward, and hearing them say “thank you” made me really happy too.
Plus, today I took things a step further with Miku. It really went well.
Now Kana and Miku call me by first names, and I want to do the same with Saki as soon as possible.
I understand how Miku and Saki both feel. There’ll inevitably be some timing differences, but I don’t want to create a gap in my relationships with either of them.
Thinking about all this, I walked home.
