When I Go Back in Time, My Ex-wife Is Making a Passionate Approach to Me, and I’m Having Trouble With It
The weekend arrived. I go out from noon as I promised Tachibana. I met Tachibana at the station. I arrived at the station, but Tachibana was still nowhere to be seen. I took out a paperback book from my bag and looked down at it.
It is time to go, and I am unexpectedly approached by a voice.
“Thank you for waiting, Senpai.”
When I looked up, I saw Tachibana standing there in plain clothes. She was dressed in a classy and elegant fashion, which was unusual for Tachibana. She was dressed in black, creating an adult atmosphere. Her skirt and boots suggest that she is a little taller than she looks.
“This is the first time I’ve seen Tachibana in her own clothes.”
“This is the first time I have seen senpai in his casual clothes, too.”
“It’s very mature and I can’t imagine much from Tachibana’s usual style.”
“Senpai is clean and well groomed. I think it’s good.”
We laughed as we looked at each other and commented on each other’s outfits. It’s not that we’re going on a date. We are just friends in a club that just happened to be the two of us today. But since I am the older one, I have to show that part of myself. And mentally speaking, I’m a lot older
“Well then, let’s go.”
Tachibana took the initiative and walked forward. Today we are going to visit the house of an OG writer. Tachibana is the only one who knows where the house is, so I’m just going to follow her.
We went through the ticket gate and went out to the platform of the station. A train was just coming in, so we boarded the train.
“There are no seats available, are there?
“Well, we’re young people, let’s stand.”
We stand holding the strap near the entrance of the train. The train started moving and swayed from side to side. Tachibana lost her balance and leaned on me.
“Excuse me.”
Tachibana jumped out of the way in a hurry, but her face seemed to be a little red.
“Don’t worry about it.”
Anyone would get nervous if they were to be touched by a member of the opposite s*x. I’m in my thirties, so I don’t get nervous when Tachibana touches me, but if this was a normal high school boy, I’m sure he would be excited.
“Why do you want to be a novelist, senpai?”
“Because I don’t want to work.”
“Wow, that’s the worst possible reason.”
I was too busy with work in my previous life to take care of my family. My life was consumed by work. But I had to work to live, and I knew it was inevitable. But now that I’m starting my life over, I’d rather be free to do what I want to do, rather than have my life be dominated by work. In that sense, a corner of my mind is thinking that I don’t even have to get married.
Fifteen minutes into the train ride, Tachibana said, “Here we are,” and we got off the train.
After leaving the ticket gate and walking along the street for a while, we saw an apartment building.
Tachibana stopped in front of the apartment and looked up.
“This is the apartment.”
I followed Tachibana into the apartment.
She took the elevator to the third floor and visited her room. When she pressed the intercom, the door opened and a young woman appeared.
“Welcome, Shiori. You’re so handsome to be with a boy.”
“She is a senior member of the literature club.”
“I see. So you’re a junior, too.”
The woman was dressed in a jersey.
“Well, come in.”
The woman beckoned us to come in. We took off our shoes and entered the room. There was a desktop computer in the room and a round table in the center.
“Sit down anywhere you like. I’ll bring you some juice.”
The woman said and left the room. Tachibana and I sat down and put down our bags as we were told.
The woman came back and put the orange juice on the round table, then grinned when she saw me.
“You’re quite good-looking. Are you and Shiori chan dating?”
“Mouu, Manami san.”
The woman called Manami put her hand over her mouth and giggled. It seems that she is making fun of us. Tachibana’s reaction is certainly cute and innocent. No wonder she wanted to tease us.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Manami Saegusa. I am a novelist under the pen name Muromachi Neko.
“My name is Shinohara Ryo. Thank you for letting me join you today.”
The pen name “Muromachi Neko” sounded familiar. I’ve been reading this book for a while now.
“So, do you want to be a writer?”
“Yes, I want to be a novelist.”
“I see. Yes, it is good to have a goal. Why do you want to be a writer?”
“Because I want to make a living as a writer without working.”
“You are so honest. Yeah, I don’t mind that.”
“Your motives are impure.”
Tachibana puckered her lips. It is true that my motives may be impure. But that is my true intention. I want to live by writing novels. I don’t want to live a life dominated by work anymore.
“But reality is not that easy.”
“Is that so?”
“Yeah. I have a side job too, so if I wanted to make a living as a writer, I think it would be tough unless I could make an anime adaptation.”
Animation? It is a tremendous road.
“An author doesn’t earn a penny unless he publishes a book. If he can’t publish a book, he has no income.”
If you want stability, you should probably get a regular job.
“Do you have a girlfriend?”
“No.”
“I see. If you have a girlfriend, I think you should have a job. But if you are alone, you might be able to survive if you save money.”
Saegusa-san smiles and looks at me.
