When I Go Back in Time, My Ex-wife Is Making a Passionate Approach to Me, and I’m Having Trouble With It

Leaving the literature club room, we walk out of the school. My house and Haruka’s house are in the same direction, so we would be going home together.

“I’m going this way, so if you’ll excuse me.”

Tachibana said and left in the opposite direction from me. The two of us stood side by side and looked at each other.

“Which way is Kurosaki-san?”

“I’m this way.”

“I’m going that way too. Do you want to go home with me since we’re here?”

“Yes. I’ll do that.”

Haruka and I headed home together.

“I learned a lot today. Shinohara-kun, your eyes light up when you read a novel.”

“It’s just my assessment. Don’t worry about it.”

“…..It’s your evaluation, so not that”

Haruka muttered something and straightened her seat.

Haruka was still holding a grudge over losing to Tachibana. There was no doubt about that. But I also wanted to say that good things are good, so I couldn’t lie.

“But Tachibana’s novel was really great. I could understand why Shinohara-kun was attracted to it.”

“Right? That was genius.”

“But still, it’s annoying when you praise Tachibana so freely.”

Haruka swears without trying to hide her dissatisfaction.

“I’m sorry. I didn’t choose Kurosaki-san’s novel.”

“I don’t mind that. Yes, I don’t mind.”

You definitely care about it. Haruka is basically a sore loser. If she loses, she will never back down until she wins. That is why she will continue to write novels until she wins against Tachibana as well.

“I don’t think there is any need to compete. Each work has its own merits.”

“All I want is to be your number one.”

A clear approach of goodwill. I shake my head with a wry smile.

“You don’t have to be my number one. It’s not worth it.”

“I’m the one who’s going for it, so it’s up to me.”

If she says that, there is nothing I can say to her.

But why does Haruka have a liking for me? Did she do something before my reincarnation? Or did I do something after my reincarnation? I am not aware of it at all.

“Shinohara-kun, what did you think of Tachibana-san?”

Haruka suddenly asked me

“I am interested in her. I’m curious to know what kind of ambitions she has inside.”

“I see…….”

Haruka said this and drooped her head in disappointment. It must not be funny to her, since the person she interested in had shown interest in another girl.

“But, I also want to write a novel.”

“I never knew you had such ambitions.”

“Me and Kurosaki-san haven’t known each other long, right? I don’t think it’s surprising that you don’t know that.”

“… I guess so.”

Haruka frowned awkwardly and looked down.

“I wanted to be a light novel writer.”

It was the first time I ever said something like that to someone. I never even said it to Haruka.

“Why a novelist?”

“Because I want to publish my own book.”

“I certainly understand that. I’ve always wanted to publish my own book.”

Haruka agrees with me. I know that. I’ve lived with her for a long time. I know that Haruka was serious about writing a novel.

“I have a great desire to give form to the stories in my head.”

“That’s fine. I think novel writing is a fascinating job that you can start at any time.”

For someone like Haruka at this time, she was strangely sweet towards me. In my memory, Haruka was cold towards me at this time. I was surprised to see that I managed to woo this arrogant girl. I want to praise my past self.

“Then, first of all, you should improve your writing stamina. I saw how much you wrote today, and you didn’t write at all.”

It is true that I was not very flattering today. I couldn’t fill up a single sheet of manuscript paper, so it goes without saying that I struggled compared to Haruka and Tachibana.

“I have some advice for you. Just write all the way to the end at once. Don’t worry about the details. Don’t worry about the descriptions or phrases. Just get on with the story. You can go back and revise it later.”

“I see.”

“If you don’t make progress, you’ll lose motivation. The rule of thumb is to write until the end and finish the details later.”

Haruka’s advice was very true. Today, I was so worried about the descriptions and phrases that I couldn’t make the progress I wanted to. I’m going to try to be more conscious of that tomorrow.

“Thanks, Kurosaki-san.”

“I don’t mind. I’m supporting your dream too.”

I chuckle at Haruka’s words. I wonder if Haruka when she was married would have supported me if I told her about my dream. During our marriage, Haruka was self-centered, and she put herself first. It would be fair to say that I grew tired of that, but in fact, it was painful for me.

So this time, I want to be with someone I feel comfortable with. That person is not Haruka.

I’m sure it’s easier to woo her because she likes me more than last time, but I don’t think I’ll choose that path.

“Well then, I’m here.”

I arrive at Haruka’s house and turn away.

“It was nice to go home with you. See you tomorrow.”

“See you tomorrow.”

I feel a little weird as I wave to Haruka. I don’t know what this feeling is right now.
